Weird timing early pre season but that club is an absolute basket case. John Eustace to replace him apparently.

I read this a while ago but there was nothing official from Birmingham. Apparently took training this morning and they sacked him. No signings, 12 players, Laurence Bassini hovering for a takeover. Complete mess of a club.

Dyche to Birmingham
Interestingly, should Bassini get control, he was the Watford owner when Dyche was manager.

Can remember Gary Rowett taking Birmingham from 20th to 10th about 8 years ago , with absolutely zero funds. He got them playing decent football and they then sacked him. Ever since they have tried to emulate Watford in the way they dispense with their managers

Birmingham one of those big city clubs who've fallen on hard times, and what decent manager would want that gig.

Didn’t they sack Rowett because they found out he was applying for other jobs?

I think Bowyer has been trying to get sacked from there for a while.
They won't resign with the payoffs they receive.

I was just going to post similar. Best thing for him, pushed before he jumped.

I have a feeling we wont see SD joining a club side for a while, however a coaching role with one of the England teams might be more likely, having previously worked in such a role. He also strikes me as an FA type of guy

I think Dyche needs to reestablish his somewhat unfair reputation as a long ball merchant before he gets anywhere near the England set up.
A good run at a club playing the football we did when we had Defour and Ward would get him back on the pedestal he once had.

Well said sir. I am Birmingham born and support the club. I am though also a claret through marriage to a Brierfield lass.

Having first watched Blues in the 1960s seen them get promoted to the old first division in the early 70s and then again to the PL after beating Norwich at Cardiff in the early 2000s that anthem always stirs my emotions.

But in more recent times I’ve become a Burnley season ticket holder, attend as many away matches as I can including Athens and Istanbul and it’s going to be mighty difficult when Blues come to TM. My wife asked me the other day who I would support on the day. Hand on heart, that’s so difficult but guess I’d have to say Birmingham but then Burnley to win the league!

Clubs are not falling over themselves to appoint our ex manager are they,I find it strange he hasn't had a sniff of a job yet....or is he being canny and waiting for the sack race to begin,I think the West Brom job is nailed on for Dyche about 8 games in.

There is absolutely no way he would have had an interest in going into a club that's in the sort of turmoil Birmingham are.

We where not exactly in rude health when he came to us where we?
What ever happens it will be very interesting to see where he rocks up and how he does.

It's in the middle of a takeover - club is a car crash. I don't think anyone knows who's making the decisions but to sack a manager now seems more than illogical given it is because of last season's form. We all knew who was getting the job even before Bowyer was sacked.
