He likes to go walkabout doesn’t he, I thought got lost at one point he was so far away from the nets.
It makes me slightly anxious.

Only a matter of time before one his passes goes to the feet of an opposition player and we concede.
Was a very close call today where it nearly happened.

Re: Muric - Is he part Aussie?
we'll gain far more than will lose with him playing that way, he started so many moves in the second half and took out 3 Luton men every time

Relax, he had it all under control!
Re: Muric - Is he part Aussie?
Still hasn’t made a save !
Re: Muric - Is he part Aussie?
We'll almost definitely concede a silly looking goal or two. But as Vegas says, overall it'll be more productive than not.
Re: Muric - Is he part Aussie?
Fantastic performance. He’s even better on the ball than I ever thought he’d be.
Re: Muric - Is he part Aussie?
FFS some on here are yearning for the great big launch up front. Games changing and evolving, keepers are having to be mobile and play out.

Thought he looked less assured and quite shaky at times today.

Some fans are desperate for a keeper that will catch the ball, lie on it for 30 seconds then launch it out into the opposite half so we can defend again.

He certainly doesn’t appear to lack confidence, he probably has UBER on speed dial in case he needs to get back quickVegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Aug 06, 2022 6:55 pmwe'll gain far more than will lose with him playing that way, he started so many moves in the second half and took out 3 Luton men every time
Re: Muric - Is he part Aussie?
I get exactly what you mean, Ithink it's because we are used to seeing our keeper put his size 9's through the ball at every opportunity. Hopefully we will soon get more used to it, exciting stuff this passing it about.
Re: Muric - Is he part Aussie?
Personally thought he looked in full control pretty much throughout.

Re: Muric - Is he part Aussie?
At Huddersfield he looked really assured, I just thought there were a couple of nearby moments today. Nothing controversial, just that the opposition put him under more pressure.
Re: Muric - Is he part Aussie?
Me too, I have no issue with him rushing outside of his box, he was first to the ball every time he did, so made the right decision.
We'll no doubt concede a few playing out from the back, as Vegas pointed out though it's the balance and we'll benefit considerably more from playing that way.

Re: Muric - Is he part Aussie?
He’s confident with excellent feet . VK appears to be insisting on no throws or kicks from hands but distribution was decent . Keepers have been “” sweeping “ for the last 10-15 yrs. All the yrs moaning about Pope’s feet and now our fans sh1t themselves when we get a keeper with good feet. He dealt with attempted charge downs well too .

To be fair it's only on here, the ones I speak to in the pub, on the game and mates are far more level headed on most things BFC related.

He’s mental.
Re: Muric - Is he part Aussie?
Gives me a heart attack every time he comes out of his box but that’s probably because I’m not used to it. Thought he was strong on crosses today. We’ll probably concede from one of his forays at some point, but the advantages are worth the risk.

Time will tell but I like him and his distribution is good ... also came for high balls and seemed quite comfortable etc.
Yes a couple of times he looked to be in a strange area but dealt with the threat in a manner befitting a gk ... He isn't Nick Pope or Tom Heaton give him a chance please

We’ll concerned the odd goal from his mistakes this season but gain far more from his abilities.

Jesus Christ, our fanbase baffles me.
I have the distinct feeling that Jesus has no opinion of the quality of our fan base. I do have the opinion that the name of our saviour should not be used as a kind of swear word. Try expressing yourself without resorting to causing offence.

Re: Muric - Is he part Aussie?
But it's not. The game is the same. You still get 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, and 0 for losing.
Don't let the media tell you otherwise.

Re: Muric - Is he part Aussie?
Never heard so many moans and groans when he had the ball sat near me yesterday, particularly one where he waited til the last moment to play a ball up to Bastien in the first half which took half of the Luton team out. To me, he knows what he’s doing and long may it continue.
In terms of goalkeeping, he does claim crosses quite well, maybe we’ll see his shot stopping next week at Watford, but if not, so be it, the lads in front of him must be doing a decent enough job.

Re: Muric - Is he part Aussie?
Apart from one incident where he stayed on his line rather than collecting a cross I thought he played very well - looks very calm in possession and very skilful.
I also love the system we have on a goal kick having a centre back either side of him take it depending on which side the ball went out on.

All goalkeepers make mistakes, this one looks unlikely to make as many as some we've had though.

Was more concerned by BPF warming up at half time than anything Muric did.

Re: Muric - Is he part Aussie?
He'll certainly keep us on the edge of our seats, but it's a welcome change to see us playing out from the back, and once we become used to it the nerves will ease.
Vital in Kompany's system that we have a keeper comfortable with the ball at his feet, and if he invites teams to press, this might allow us to play through the lines easier.
Seems competent enough on crosses, which with our lack of height in defence will also be important.
Difficult to fully judge him yet as he's had very little to do in either game yet, Friday may well see him busier.

Re: Muric - Is he part Aussie?
Pope was the most sweepery keeper in the Premier League last season if you look at the stats. His average position when playing the ball was further from goal than any of the other keepers.AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Sat Aug 06, 2022 7:49 pmHe’s confident with excellent feet . Re: Muric - Is he part Aussie?
He was indeed always quick out the box for headers etc an underrated part of his game . My point however being he was constantly ( v unfairly imo ) chided for “ cr@p” feet , but when we get a keeper with very good close ball control people still aren’t happy .
Re: Muric - Is he part Aussie?
Like someone said earlier in the thread he’s not had a shot to save yet apart from, obviously the goal on Saturday. He looks strong, quick minded and confident and that’s what you need in a keeper - But just think about that - not really a shot to save in two games with a new team and complete overhaul of the defense - impressive !

Apparently, William Hill are offering 5/1 that Muric will be flagged offside at some point this season.
