One Shot: The football factory. Sky Documentary

Just watching first episode - good watch with an appearance from a Burnley legend.

Following scouting talent in south London. Really interesting so far.

Just on episode 2, it's very good and shows how hard it is to make it. 1% of 12000 will potentially get a pro contract but the rewards are unbelievable. Salaries of £75k average at the lower level is nothing to be sniffed at and of course should you reach the top level..

Watched all 4 episodes the other day, a really good watch and insight into how tough it is. It doesn’t help mind when you have a dad like one of the lads talk about putting pressure on him.

Watched all four in one hit, was quite a good watch but I felt they spent too much time at Tooting & Mitcham. Could have picked any non league club at that level and you'll have players who think they're good enough, or could have been with the right attitude.

The dad who took his son to Portugal is going to end up very, very disappointed. Ridiculous way to go about it.

Yeah his Dad seemed to be a bit too focused on the career but it clearly sees his son as a retirement ticket from what his son said.

I finished all 4 as I was hooked into it.

The poor lad in Portugal is being hounded from pillar to post by his meglomanic Dad who clearly can't see beyond his own dreams.

You could tell those who genuinely love the game from those who just want to be on the gravy train. I suggest the former will have more success.

When people start to say how poor our system is at producing players, maybe a pause for thought at what is required at the lowest level, let alone at the top!
