The mind boggles how these adverts saw the light of day,ok different times and all that but some are just warped. Fair to say though most are American so that will explain a lot.

Traditionally the man went out to work in those days and the wife brought up the children and did her best to keep a good home.
Attitudes have changed significantly in the last 40-50 years in the civilised world so it may be useful to look at adverts like this from time to time to remind us how far we have come in creating a fair and equal societies in the Western world. But only the Western world. We will soon be having a major football tournament in a country where women are still treated like second class citizens.

They have changed for sure, and mainly for the better. But only the attitudes and values of the indigenous population have changed so significantly.Jamesy wrote: ↑Thu Aug 11, 2022 8:49 pmYou have answered your own post really. Different times, different attitudes.

We can’t say that the western world has developed leaving the Middle East even further behind tho… we still struggle with certain pockets of our society treating women and girls appallingly. We have “imported” plenty of problems by allowing those with outdated and, let’s be honest here, backwards views and attitudes towards women to flourish, and we blindly allow it to continue because we hide behind words like “culture”.

'Tabs' - highly addictive and sold as good for you upon release. Get people addicted and tax the hell out of it.
Coca-Cola - a 'cough medicine' upon release with cocaine part of the recipe.
Yes times have changed and society has changed massively, but if we look into the past we can learn a lot, as practices similar to just these two here are still exercised to benefit the powers that be

To be honest most of those commonwealth countries with serious issues in that respect inherited them from us back in the daybobinho wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 7:33 amThey have changed for sure, and mainly for the better.
