It’s alright for a cheap and cheerful breakfast/carvery.
There’s a nice one over Bolton way, in a nice setting. The one in Keighley feels more like the Queen Vic.
Edit - it’s Crompton Way, Bolton

You’re a maniac if you’re going for a carvery in this weather

Not usually for me as I’m a fussy bugger but some can be really decent when I’m working away.
Guess you can’t go wrong for a low cost carvery or breakfast as someone else said above.

Someone with BigChaCha money wouldn't be seen in one of them.

I’d forgotten it was that poster
was going to say it’s for all the riffraff that have been priced out of the nice restaurants that don’t microwave everything.

I can’t recommend any specific toby carveries but the angel at hetton is good quality food reasonably priced in pleasant surroundings.

“ exclusive place “
Hook , bait , cast!!
Toby Carvery’s are ok if you’re stuck miles away and starving at 3pm on a Tues and I guess you can wash down with a pint too . But carverys at weekends are hell on earth . I went to one last yr ,sort of on the way to Gawthorpe after coming off motorway bit before a cricket club ? Full of screaming kids , coffin dodgers etc and the food.. ( though cleverly presented ) was little more than re-heated /fried cheap frozen food level. A greasy spoon would have done better

Looks like I caught a few as well
I didn't think the thread would get past the mods and last this long to be honest

The only place I have ever been where Yorkshire pudding is served at breakfast. I stopped off at The Boat & Horses in Chadderton whilst on the road with work, for some lunch earlier in the week - we sat outside because it was a lovely, hot day. It amazed us how many people were demolishing the carvery on a day like that! Plates piled high with all the contents of a roast dinner.
Mind you, they do a roaring trade in roast dinners in Benidorm, Magaluf etc. so maybe I'm the one that's missing the point?

A Tony Carvery
The one and only time I ate that concoction of cheap fatty meat and over cooked vegetables that had been sat under some warm lights for 5 hours I think they were showing Hart to Hart on the TV in the corner

In all seriousness, I used to love a carvery or buffet but I am not a fan these days... I don't mind the new system of buffets I have seen at Chinese restaurants though, where you sit down and choose from a buffet meal card and it is cooked fresh for you.

Toby Carvery - fantastic if you can find a good clean restaurant to have one in, though they are few and far between these days.
I do like an all you can eat type buffet, there's one in MK called MK Buffet Village - which offers a selection of food from around the world for about £15 each (used to be about £8 a couple of years back... but inflation etc...)
all just for a treat though
