Gonna be a long season. We are way too lightweight for this league. Guess that what happens when you sell your best players and buy a bunch of kids. Our. EST players by a mile were Brownhill and Cork and that says it all

What are you actually on about?

We had the best chances of the game, Brownhill very unlucky there.

Patience is required - we are still missing our main creative sources in Twine / Jay Rod.

Really promising signs in the second half.
RV put your money where your mouth is.

Let’s put a wager on where we finish this season

Great attempts by Luke McNally and Josh Brownhill but lots of elbows from Ash and Jay Rodriguez conspicuous by his absence in the last 29 minutes.
A relatively toothless display and lots of work to do in attracting a quality striker before the transfer window closes.

Really poor tonight, wouldn't score if we played another 90 minutes. Watford are shite too. Can't blame Kompany, you lose your most potent players and given peanuts to replace them with, difficult task.

There's 43 games to go, people really need to relax. There seems to be a hangover of frustration from last season as soon as we've faltered. We were going to pi** this league at half time against Huddersfield. Now we're useless apparently

Very unlucky let down by poor defending and a return to sideways passing
We will get 6 points this week coming

Deserved a point but some real worries tonight.

Lack of a cutting edge is a huge concern. Dominate the ball all you like but we’re pretty clueless truth be told when we reach their box.
Agree that we didn’t do anywhere near well enough in the final third. Always balls to feet. Never in front. When we started playing balls in front we looked decent.

I like him but time to move him on. We desperately need players who can deliver. If we had that last season we would still be Premier League. 3 games….all of them showing we need players who can score.

“Id have lowton going forward all day” Agree.

Otherwise I thought we were a tad unlucky. I feel like provided they are given time these lads can become a formidable team. Plus maybe a striker…..

Sounded like we were unlucky not to get something.
It highlights the need for a decent striker to be signed.

Another day we would've won.

On to the next game once certain people have predictably stopped twisting their knickers.

Some absolute nonsense being posted tonight, they've had ONE shot on target, and made it count, well 2nd half we've been by far the better side, and their keeper has foiled us on 2/3 occasions.

Yes there's plenty for the gaffer to improve, but if anyone seriously expected us to sweep all before us in this league, well overhauling pretty much the entire squad they are deluded.

Get some perspective for goodness sake, it's a long season, and when we get the players VK wants we'll be a real force at this level.
Bang on.

Only one team deserved to win that.

Watford away arguably the hardest game of the season, with Sarr and Pedro, and we made them look very ordinary.

Get a new striker in and we’ll be fine.

We need two new strikers, Barnes and Jayrod are too old and too slow. They were bigger, stronger and taller than us all over the pitch. We have too many small, tricky players. However, we improved alot in the second half with Cork on and could easily have got a point.

Not good where it counts. We will not score many playing like we do. Lots of possession but difficult with penetrative. Vitinho made a difference. When Brownhill is your main main, you know you are going to struggle for goals.

Let's hope it gets smoother and quicker. Too ponderous.

Great shame as certainly didn't deserve to lose against that Watford team.

Fully agree. People mistake running forward for being good going forward.
Roberts physically is probably more suited to Kompanys system, and his time at Swansea shows he has tons of ability, but Lowton is such an underappreciated player at both ends of the pitch. The only better right back we've had in the past 40 years is Trippier.

Very true. To not have one signed already is very poor imo.

Barnes and Costelloe should not start again imo. Neither at fault for the result but both just offer zero threat imo.

Very unlucky in the end.

Key points:

Cork needs to play
Tella and Benson fairly anonymous but early days for them
Need someone other than Brownhill who can hit the target as he’s the only one who looks like scoring
Maatsen is gonna be the best player in the championship this season

We are a new team so I would say that we are still learning hence the nativity.

Far too pedestrian in first half for me and we switch off last minute and concede. Watford really didn’t offer too much more.

Definitely better with Jayrod but we need to get better in the final third. Ash for me looked lost at times.

Just got to learn from it. Which I’m sure they will.

I think VK will have learned a lot about the team tonight. We should have buried Watford and at least we created a number of chances. I think its only a matter of time before a more orthodox centre half partners TBH, and maybe thats why McNally came on briefly tonight. Charlie I am afraid slows down the tempo, either hitting it long or side ways. He will also now have seen enough of Barnes and Costelloe too. We need a striker quickly, so passes can be threaded to. Jay looked more of a threat when he came on.

We've been the better side in all three games so far, by some margin too I'd say. Of course it's wins which matter but I'm finding it very difficult to buy in to the hysteria. We'll improve, it'll click. Seeing way more positives than negatives.

It's the constant working the ball backwards that Grinds My Gears.

We are easy to nullify as it stands.

That said it is early - new team - it willget better I am sure.

Cork should Start.

You'd have to qualify our "most potent players"

Wood?
Weghorst?
Mcneil, Cornet, Weghorst.

It's gonna take time, I don't think it's unfair to comment after every individual game though. I don't think it's negative to point out we were toothless again either. It needs proper investment in the forward areas, not peanuts.
