Now you know why you don't leave Jack Cork out...
Mr Kompany.
While I'm at it, Vitinho needs to start, Benson is too lightweight in these sort of games and you have to find a way of getting us some cutting edge. because we look quite toothless when it comes to trying to put the ball in the net.
Having said all that, I'm enjoying how we are going about it and playing for the most part.
Muric's still driving me to drink though, which I'm guessing is something I'm just going to have to accept. So cheers Arijanet.

Class act, Jack.
Re: Now you know why you don't leave Jack Cork out...
We looked a significantly worse side when Dyche left Cork out, and tonight was evidence that he should be one of the first names on the team sheet for Kompany. We play so much better with him making things tick - and that's been the case for years.

Benson reminds me of Ross Wallace in that he'll be dangerous in the final third but will become isolated if he's getting the ball on the halfway line instead of further up the pitch.Bin Ont Turf wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 10:14 pm

Yes, he's looked like that for a few years now but still up and down like a proper midfielder does.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 10:16 pmRemember when we were told 2 year ago his legs were gone

I don't think Jack was dropped, just that there's a bit of player management with the number of games coming up. Agree that we're far better with him in the team though, when he's able to play the ball forward quickly (my only criticism of him, sometimes slows us down).

Surprised he dropped out. I think it’ll take time to find the best side, I think there is room for him and Cullen though.

Surprised he was dropped but let’s not pretend he made any difference to the result. We had one effort on game in 90 minutes.

This must be deliberate selectiveness.Steve-Harpers-perm wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 10:26 pmSurprised he was dropped but let’s not pretend he made any difference to the result. We had one effort on game in 90 minutes.

Technically better than Wallace, but yes I agree.
Definitely would be better on the other wing I think, but that would probably stifle Maatsen, who is one of our best players at the minute.

Surely not dropped, but rested, or simply VK experimenting with his alternates, but he rescued our game in the 2nd half. Sadly he can’t do it all, but surely VK takes away a learning from that

A bit harsh on Benson maybe - they nobbled him early like we used to do. That happens. Yes, he has to ride it out.
Vitinho, Cork great. Muric playing a style that is right on his skill limit. He is driving me to drink too - I’ve had too much on a hot night. I’ll have to trust the manager on that one. At times just welly it. Ederson does.

Should have started.
Re: Now you know why you don't leave Jack Cork out...
That's how I saw it. Kamara played well though and Benson could get nothing out of him. Unlucky with the red card in that he mis-controlled the ball but then took one for the team which paid off. Kamara not far from MoM.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 10:41 pmA bit harsh on Benson maybe - they nobbled him early like we used to do. That happens. Yes, he has to ride it out.
