Share price has had very little correlation to performance on the pitch - all to do with financials. Hence the mess they're in - Glazers get their dividends no matter what happens on the pitch, they couldn't care less.

Even if Utd were relegated, I'd bet good money their dividends wouldn't be cut such is their commercial strength.

Too many big earners without the graft. Rashford look shot of confidence. Maguire for England, not good enough.

I genuinely don’t understand their transfer policy. Ronaldo was never needed, literally signed him so City couldn’t. All the ones this summer are so scattergun. The clubs a shambles from top to bottom.

And to sell shirts. And sponsorship. It didn't matter whether he was a has been or the best in the league. It's 50% down to marketing.
I chose to watch schalke v moenchengladbach. Its a bit like good burnley v good Norwich from about 3-4 years ago. Very enjoyable. But then so would watching the mancs losing 6-0 at Brentford, I suppose, in a different way.

Second half just as poor, apart from conceding no further goals…
The whole team is completely unbalanced and lacks genuine leaders.

I still have the theory that City didn’t show any interest at all and it was Ronaldo’s agent ensuring UTD panicked into a ridiculous investment.

Now come on be fair they drew the 2nd half at Brentford, unfortunately for them it's a game of two halves.

Brentford played quite well but not outstanding, and they cruised to a comfortable victory.

What made the difference is Brentford had desire, whereas Man Utd were just going through the motions.

Whinging on and on about lack of investment when one of the graphics during the match showed that the outlay for those on the pitch
for manure was approaching half a £billion compared to Brentfords £55 million!!

How much fo the glory boys need?

I’d be very surprised if city, who have an expensive but very successful recent transfer record, would have been after him, so you’re theory is not unrealistic at all!

Me too.

I don't even cheer our goals but I almost did for Brentfords.

I watched this game to see how Ben Mee would do and he fitted in well on the left side of their back three. Read the game well, some good interceptions and positioning, and of course the goal. Really pleased for him as there seemed to be some negative comments on his performance last week. Mind you you have to take into account the opposition which was awful today. :D

To all those who use to cheer on the Longside in the 80's when the half time scores were read out and Man Utd were winning..... ha ha f*** off.

Hope we pass them on the way up.

I once had a manager resign at half-time when we came in 3 goals down. He told us we were all "f*cking w*nkers" and we could get our f*clking wages from the "f*cking bog" at the end of the match. He was "f*cking sick of us f*cking embarrassing him in front of his f*cking family!"

We went out and won 4-3. He greeted us with hugs at the end!
