Talking about birds, anyone know when Swallows fly back to Africa ?
Me & Mrs Aclaret are spending the week in deepest Lincolnshire, all week we have been treated to aerobics from hundreds of em !.....nothing today, Didn't think they went back until Winter.
Any time over the next few weeks they are gathering ready for the big trip

I endured a conversation this evening fronted by one of the proud 160,000 or whatever it really is that gets to pick our next prime minister. Suffice to say that he fits all of the stereotypes that we fear might be undergoing this process.
The comments started with him telling us that there are only 400 in Eastbourne that get to vote and that he "won't vote for an Indian", and then his lecture downwardly progressed until I told him to **** off after he got to the bit where he would put all the immigrants onto planes and send them home. Had I had my wits about me I would have told him to get in his tardis and f off back to the 1890's, but no, I just resorted to some fairly accurate expletives. I'm not really proud of myself, but am disappointed in some others that didn't tell him to shut the f up and get back in his bigotbox.

They did an ace bean burger.
Still a wimpy on Southsea sea front, though not been in it for 20+ years

If hot cakes are so popular, how come there's none for sale on Amazon?

What is our USP, be that for football chants or just civic pride?

In no particular order...I like our association with Bene, even though I don't like it as a drink. Sorry!

I also like that Shankly referred to us as a "village team". We are the smallest town to sustain a PL team and even qualified for European competition in the modern age.

We have won the top league title...twice (you'll never do that) and the FA Cup. We have won all 4 divisions. We have a traditional ground. Many of our ex players speak well of us.

We are the birthplace of Jimmy Anderson, Craig Heap, Paul Abbott, Alice Nutter, Ian McKellen and Eric Knowles. Our famous supporters include Alastair Campbell, Sam Aston, Jordan North, Tony Livesey, Charles Mountbatten-Windsor, John Kettley and Anna Ford.

We have a rich tradition in textiles and weaving. The Singing Ringing Tree is cool. We are surrounded by beautiful countryside, including Pendle Hill (nearly a mountain).

I would argue the Club means more to us than all/most other towns. I never tire of telling Leeds' fans that Elland Rd would need to accommodate 250,000 before they hit parity on a per capita basis.

What else? And how would you want us to be represented in football chants?

Why have Sky changed man of the match, to player of the game, when only men are playing the game? Has the world gone mad?

They left early this year to avoid the airport queues.

As a talentless nerd I just wish I could caddy for him. 5-10% for haulage.

Just seen that Torquay got beat today by Woking FC

I bet Woking FC get slagged a lot for their pedestrian style. Do you have to be over 50 to play for them?

They'd get hammered on here for playing in sandals and singing inclusive chants.

I was only discussing the launch this morning. It's going to land on the moon for the first time in 50 yrs.
Don't know why or the purpose of it , presumably they are going to land some form of monitoring equipment there.

BBC news just said they couldn’t get one of the engine temperatures down to acceptable limits.

Can't be ar$ed with the tribes tonight. You either have to be disgusted by the performance or disgusted by others' reaction to the performance. There is room for constructive nuanced debate somewhere, maybe it's the metaverse.

The Keeper (film on Bert Trautmann) has just started on BBC1 if anyone's interested. John Henshaw showing incredible range as always.
