I won't be the only person who used a two word phrase ending with "Off" when reading that....
Although I suppose it's about his potential, similar to when Everton got £30 million for Rooney.

Gordon is one of the best prospects we have in English football and its worth remembering only a couple of years ago plenty of people thought Declan Rice was overrated and not worth the money that he was being valued at.
Nothings guaranteed but Gordon has everything required to be a top England international and I expect him to be playing a big part come the next Euro's

Curtains for Everton if he goes they really will be up the creek without a paddle, especially after losing Richarldson and replacing him with Dwight

If someone can stop this lad’s theatrics and antics he will only improve. Wouldn’t surprise me if it’s United looking for some fight and inspiration in their midfield.

He’s certainly got an option to fall back on if he fails at football.
Rare to get someone with such ability.

Re: Gordon - Everton
Good player but he does need to focus on his game and cut out the diving, mainly because he's not very good at it, he should look at how Harry Kane has perfected the art.
I do wonder if Everton will drop this year, they only survived by the skin of their teeth thanks to Richarlison and Pickford last time, and they've already lost the services of the former.
Big task for Lampard early in his managerial career to steady the ship at Goodison.

Thought he was Scottish…
Re: Gordon - Everton
Worth noting that for all the chat about McNeil's end product, he has a better goals/assists per game ratio in the Premier League than Gordon so far.
I cannot see how Gordon is worth over twice what they paid for McNeil, even if he is younger and quicker.

Re: Gordon - Everton
Looking at some of these transfer prices in the PL, I find it staggering. How can this lad be worth anything like what its rumoured Everton want. The figures being banded around make Haaland and Jesus seem like absolute bargains.
Re: Gordon - Everton
Personally I don’t rate him, and he cheats a lot but if someone offers stupid money to buy him that’s their look out

Diving cheat. He's an ½ decent player, but if Cornet went for 17.5 you've just got say wow.

Absolutely. Makes a mockery of those fees and some of ours this summer.
When I look back & think what we might’ve got for Collins, Cornet and arguably McNeil had we stayed up (and held on to them for a few years), it makes me feel sick!

Re: Gordon - Everton
I agree with this. He has great balance and footwork thus very good with the ball at his feet. Also has very good pace- as exhibited v Villa this last weekend.Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 1:51 pmGordon is one of the best prospects we have in English football and its worth remembering only a couple of years ago plenty of people thought Declan Rice was overrated and not worth the money that he was being valued at.

He's still a bit apt to keep the ball too long (as per many young players with such skills) but with good coaching/development, he'll get out of that and should become a very top player. Players who can run with the ball at pace and beat defenders are gold dust.

Great player but he really does let himself down with the diving. I bloody hate watching him play.

I'm convinced Tuchel is trying to screw Lampard over, there can be no other reason for offering that kind of money for him

Chelsea in danger of going down the Man Utd route, and paying over the odds for players.
60m + add-on's is crazy money for a lad who's not proved himself in the top flight yet.

Doesn't look like a deal is going to happen, apparently there is a substantial gap between the two clubs valuation of the player...

I’d say they’re more at risk by keeping him. Don’t really rate him & had they sold for the figures rumoured they might’ve been able to invest more wisely.Top Claret wrote: ↑Tue Aug 23, 2022 5:34 pmIf Everton sell Gordon I think they will get relegated as I feel it's now their time

He is a better player to some of the over hyped kids around the Premier League.

Chelsea have offered Everton Armando Broja and Conor Gallagher plus £25m in return for Anthony Gordon
Everton would be extremely stupid not to accept this and Chelsea must start to question Tommy Tuchel’s common sense

Re: Gordon - Everton
Seems that Everton have borrowed more money to facilitate the spending this summer - if it really has gone on players, it is a shocking way for them to do business as it does not read like an invoice advancement on the Richarlison sale
