Why the 16th minute?Hurstwood_Claret wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 3:49 pmWhy don’t we do a minutes applause in the 16th Minute for Lenny?
He had 3 spells with us and at least 2 different numbers (11 & 16)
Should just be before the game

I hate doing this and although I knew it was getting close, I couldn't bring myself to write anything.
But I've got something on site now that I hope does justice to this inspirational man.

I used to love Lenny's energy and commitment on the pitch. His crunching tackles were a joy to watch. Rest In Peace Lenny.

Re: Lenny Johnrose RIP
I played against Lenny at school and even though he was a year below us all, he was easily the best player on the pitch. Everyone knew that he was destined for a career as a pro footballer and he was a credit to his profession.
I do hope that the club pays a fitting tribute to Lenny before and not during the game.

I remember a coming together between Lenny and Sean Gregan,(no thinking violet himself) and the ball nearly burst.Turftalker wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 5:17 pmI used to love Lenny's energy and commitment on the pitch. His crunching tackles were a joy to watch. Rest In Peace Lenny.

16th mintue because I thought he used the #16. I wouldn’t mind a minute of applause before the match. Personally I think a Minute of silence should be reserved for Poppy Day and in memoriam etc

Did the club ask him what he wanted? He knew this day would come sooner rather than later. If they didn’t ask him then it’s time to ask his family.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 3:54 pmWhy don't we do a minute's silence before the game rather than interrupting the actual game?
Personally rather have a minute’s applause to celebrate than a minute feeling sad and sorry.

Thought I would "bump" this post. Couldn't agree more, and hope that this is what happens.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 3:54 pmWhy don't we do a minute's silence before the game rather than interrupting the actual game?
Like many, I have really serious reservations about these "applause minutes" during the game. Sooner or later we'll be applauding to mark someone's passing and we'll either concede a goal or the referee will make a very controversial decision against us, then we won't know what to do!
Of course I can't end this post without expressing my sadness at the passing of a Clarets legend following this horrible illness.
Let's hope that a cure will be found soon.
RIP Lenny.
