Re: Liverpool v Palace
Just slow out of blocks I think everybody expected them to get the 3 in the opener (me included) there's still plenty of time in this 1 to turn it around.& 4 from 2 wouldn't be that bad assuming they do the business tonight.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 8:37 pmThis Liverpool team looks a shadow on the last few seasons.

For some reason they are unwilling to spend on a new world class central midfielderNewcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 8:37 pmThis Liverpool team looks a shadow on the last few seasons.

Re: Liverpool v Palace
this first half reminds me of watching us at Watford, plenty of the ball but struggling with the physicality of the opposition

Re: Liverpool v Palace
Bugger. I have 2 Liverpool defenders in my FF team, I should've seen the writing on the wall after letting 2 in at Fulham but thought that was a blip.
If they dont get at least 2 goals here, that gap v a superlative City team is already looking alarmingly big.
Who was marking Wilfred? Not T A-A was it?

Always surprised that no-one from the top clubs has not snapped Zaha up. He is a bit of an odd ball but sensational footballer.

He was at Man U but it didn't work out. He is an oddball and controversial.Cirrus_Minor wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 8:56 pmAlways surprised that no-one from the top clubs has not snapped Zaha up. He us a bit of an odd ball but sensational footballer.

Re: Liverpool v Palace
Strange thing to say I admit, but I’ve never been fully convinced by van Dijk since he came back from that injury caused by Pickford.
Relying on Henderson, bringing on the likes of The Ox and giving a new long contract to Harvey Elliott suggests to me that, notwithstanding the quality Nunez brings, they may be past the peak.

Re: Liverpool v Palace
They have but palace have always fended off approaches & been forced to make him their highest paid player & then the local lad appeal, it goes to show that you don't necessarily have to lose your best talent, palace have been fortunate really with zahas loyalty if he really wanted to he could have pushed & gone somewhere else but I've heard he's the kind of guy who donates money to charity & kind of humble off the field & with what happened at MU probably doesn't inspire confidence he'd be as successful elsewhere as he is at palace.Cirrus_Minor wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 8:56 pmAlways surprised that no-one from the top clubs has not snapped Zaha up. And Gomes for Phillips
Re: Liverpool v Palace
Bloody hell what a goal Luis Diaz
Re: Liverpool v Palace
Cork v waterford. 0-0 after 74 mins. Cork are top and waterford were down to 10 men after 8 mins.
W needed a win, but it would be a great point in the circs if they can hold out.
Meanwhile, I guess Liverpool are passing the ball back and forward tediously.

Bit of an "after you, Claude" by the Palace defence, he waltzed past about six of em.

Absolutely hate Tsimikas, people go on about Gordon at Everton diving, Tsimikas takes it to another level.

On the BBC website coverage, just before half-time, one of the listeners comments was "Nunez to get sent off here. Can see it now.... getting impatient."
Hope Stuart from Stoke put a ciouple of bob on that.

Re: Liverpool v Palace
There is going to a red for Palace here or a dodgy Liverpool penalty given, crowd is up for every challenge and Tierney is a weak referee who will give in to them.

Isn’t that often the case with ten men, the others raise their game to cover.

73% possession if only they had a 20+ striker in their team.

Liverpool 12th. Mr Ed wont be happy with this. Wonder if stormed off down the tunnel after Viera as he did with SD till SD turned round and offered him a bag of hay.

Re: Liverpool v Palace
Seen a very special player tonight in Eze for Crystal Palace, a performance up there with the very best.
I've been fortunate to see similar class performances for Burnley over the years from the likes of Jimmy Mac, Leighton James and Trevor Steven where they were capable of ghosting past an opponent with the drop of a shoulder and leaving them for dead.
This lad Eze has all those attributes and can rip Premier League defences apart this season, if this time he can steer clear of injury.

Re: Liverpool v Palace
No need to bash the ref. He was excellent, taking no notice of Zaha's and Ayew's usual behaviour, and got most (not all of course) call's right which all in all led to a gripping game.claretburns wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 9:32 pmThere is going to a red for Palace here or a dodgy Liverpool penalty given, crowd is up for every challenge and Tierney is a weak referee who will give in to them.
Liverpool were good in the first half only lacking the goal. Palace defended well and scored a good goal. Second half I didn't think Liverpool were up to their standard and Palace looked comfortable, having some a few difficult chances to increase the lead.

I first saw Eze for the England U-21 when McNeil was playing for them in a tournament that was televised. Eze was the outstanding player, still at QPR then. He's progressed at Palace in fits and starts but now looks the business, having grown stronger and of course wiser.Royboyclaret wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 10:50 pmSeen a very special player tonight in Eze for Crystal Palace, a performance up there with the very best.

So Cork City 4 points clear but still have to go to Terryland and the RSC , not over yet .
