Cullen moved it quickly, Maatsen tore down the left, lovely cross - bang.

When we move it quickly it’s really good to watch - this needs to happen so much more.

Teams are gonna sit back and try and hit us on the break. Haven't looked much like breaking any of them down since Huddersfield and we don't have De Bryne.
Shut up Neil

Worrying signs little or not end product at one end, and shipping soft goals at the other end,

That'll do from Jay though.

1-1 assist from Maatsen.

Time for Jay to step up. I think he still has it, but needs to start repaying the club back for the 2 year contract he got. A few goals tonight will give him huge confidence and he could go on from there
C'mmon Jay-we have faith in you

Cullen was brilliant with that ball. We're looking for Maatsen and Vitinho all the time. Glad their RB gave him all that space. Still a good ball in and JRod was alive for it.

Come on.

Decent first half, but we have to cut out these sloppy goals. Vintinho was hugging the touchline, but his movement wasn't really enough. Brownhill seemed sloppy first 30 mins, losing the ball the most for us.

That move for the goal was sublime all around. Think we have more in us for this second half.

Disappointed not to be in the lead there. Good half.

I think you can see what a creative 10 like Twine will add to this team.

Struggled getting Vitinho on the ball really, wondering if he’ll make way for Benson soon ish.

Hook Vitinho at half time, absolutely anonymous. We know now Taylor isn’t a centre back and I surely can’t be alone in having enough of Roberts. It’s all well and good having 80% possession when you’re passing across the back line for ages. Muric saved a shot yet this season?

Need a lot more from Brownhill and some sharper passing from Charlie and Cork
Great goal - Cullen is quality and would be good further forward

I'm less than convinced on today's play by Taylor, Brownhill and Roberts.

I think we've already established in game four that we're dangerous when we move it quickly, and ponderous when we don't.

I've said on a different thread a few days ago that it's as if we had a 3 second rule on the ball and release it, but we haven't for the next three games, but when we do, we're at the races

Be different when Twine comes in or we go two up top I think.

Don’t think this is our final formation/system,

Not sure what to make of that half, nearly 75% possession, 6 shots to 1, yet again Hull like Watford score with their only shot on target.

Good response to their goal, and that's twice in 2 home games we've came from behind, shows we aren't lacking in character which is a great sign for the rest of the season.

Great for Jay to get off the mark shows what I know.

First half notes:

Positives:
Maatsen is one of the best players in this division.
Cullen when he gets on the ball and looks forward he’s great.
Bellis looks very competent at this level.

Negatives:
Brownhill is not an attacking midfielder, lacks that final ball quality.
Bastien been very very quiet.

If we sign a proper number ten (or twine gets fit) and another top striker we will start scoring a hell of a lot of goals

He hasn't had a single ball to run on to.But I think Costelloe would have given the left back more to think about.

Hoping Twine gets in the team if, for nothing else, to keep Brownhill away from free kicks. Awful.

Cork a bit slow sometimes, and Roberts electing nog to play some cross balls to Maatsen who looks to have plenty of space all the time.
Vitinho needs to find more space for himself.
Otherwise we look good but very vulnerable to route 1 football

There must be someone who can get a free kick on target in this team surely, great goal need more penetration from through balls like the goal, stop fannying around with it.

Taylor and Roberts both poor tonight, but Charlie's been worst.
Vitinho hasn't had a chance they keep lobbing these high floating balls, direct to him on the wing, that are so easy for defenders to pick off. He needs ball to feet, through the channel, or float the ball to the corner flag so he can at least have a foot race with the defender.

I like the players, I like the formation and system, we just aren't up to speed with it yet. When we get it on the floor and move it fast we look great, but we make far too many unforced errors to be happy

To be fair to Roberts whenever he has picked the ball up, Vintinho hasn't set off on a run, he has just held his position on the line, Roberts has had nowhere to go with the ball. If Vintinho was making runs and more movement it would give us more options on the right. Thinks it's a work in progress and sure he will get better there, definitely has a lot of talent.

Possession and shots on goal mean nothing, the fact is apart from the goal, we never looked like scoring. We have to move the ball quickly or Hull will sit back and hit us on the break

100%. Maatsen is playing terrific so you understand it but we're sending everything down the left and Bastien's job seems to be to tuck in to draw a man to give Maatsen space wide.
