3 of them shots on target were from over 25 yards.
Not sure what difference that makes

It’s coming.

Tella to start and play central from here in

no idea who was supposed to be attacking the leading edge of the six yard box at that corner

Not sure what your seeing that I’m not.

But I have just watched 90 mins of us dominating play and to be brutally honest we could have done another 90 without scoring. End quality needs to dramatically improve

We’re really powder puff at the moment.

Hull haven’t had to defend that well to keep us out second half.

You can see why we wanted O’Hare - we need craft right behind the striker and we just don’t get that from any of our CM’s (as good as they are in general). Can Churlinov play centrally?

With all our possession you need to give Hull credit for keeping us out. The "dirty stuff" in this Division is as important as the goals , as we showed when we won the Championship

Between people proclaiming relegation and subs being given less than 4 minutes to make an impact, this has to be one of the worst match threads we’ve ever had.

Surely we don’t expect a new team with a new manager to be blasting teams off the park 3-0, 4-0 already?

Set pieces are terrible universally - not to put too much pressure on Twine, but again, we need to hope he can help this.

We’re certainly playing some nice easy on the eye football but we are missing the killer instinct. It will come though, improvements are there, but we need to stop being sloppy at the back

Matsen has dropped off significantly since a great start in the first match... Looks almost too laid back at times and his first touch constantly lets him down.

Benson not good enough on that showing.
Tell showing promise, Cullen and THB very good.
Josh and Jarrod had the best chances to win the game.

Equalizer a side very much a carbon copy of Watford. Defense fell asleep, concerned a sloppy goal on the break. Lots of moves into the final third but nothing much once we got there.
So long as the opponents keep their heads and their shape they don't seem to be too worried.

Some good football at times and we've clearly got some real talent but we have to stop conceding so we make other teams attack us more and therefore they then become easier to exploit.

Hull did an old Burnley on us and credit to them for defending so well.

Yes, but Jay's was a chance he'd love to have again. Right in front of the goal.

P4 W1 D2 L1, and that was unlucky. For a work in progress that is not too bad.

If we carry on dominating games in terms of possession,
chances created etc. then surely we're going to win more than we lose or draw?

Aren't we?

Ok that’s your opinion.

But everything I have seen this season says we will dominate play in probably every game but will not score the goals to be at the top end of the table.

Trying to pass our way through a ten men defence every game is going to be very difficult to score. Teams are just going to sit in there every week and wait to try us on the break. We need to vary it a bit.

We didn't score goals last season and got relegated, we appear not to be able to score goals this and probably won't get promoted.
The pattern for the season would seem to be, concede a soft goal and have a 50/50 chance of equalizing
But it is entertaining, really enjoying the football
Is not scoring goals the Burnley thing?

Another point on the board, and the signs are encouraging, but we do need to start turning these draws into wins, although on the balance of play 2nd half we could and should have netted a winner.

Maatsen outstanding again, Jay netted which will hopefully spark him into a run of goals, but equally he should have scored that sitter 2nd half.

A steady enough start considering the massive turnover, and we're showing enough to suggest we'll push near the top of this league when we start taking our chances.

Keeping clean sheets would also be a huge help, caught on the break again tonight, then forced to chase the game.

Maatsen excellent. Belis excellent. Tella looked bright. Cork doing really well. Taylor's positioning is pretty abject. When we raise the tempo, we look decent. We need a striker and a creative player to play behind. A proper centre back will alleviate the silly goals. Barnes is done and I'm a big fan of his.

A couple of signings and someone is getting pasted.

Watched the last 25 minutes om the clubs stream.
We played some excellent t football and I was impressed by the movement also. THB's distribution was fantastic.
From what i saw we should have won that game, Jay (who looked good) and Brownhill both should be scoring those chances. Not entirely sure what Benson was doing with either of his but clearly some work to do on our finishing....

Was going to say exactly the same. Have just watched on clarets player having paid my £10.
Well worth it. Really enjoyed that. Frustrated we didn’t get the win and we are going to have to get used to teams doing a Burnley on us.
But there were spells where we played some wonderful creative football. The goal was just lovely to watch.

We need to be patient as the team continues to grow and learn. But I don’t think it will be long before we give someone a pasting!

Mostly very good to watch. Some genuinely nice football. Some sloppy passes which will get punished by some teams. Too many new players to know exactly where they make runs and want the ball playing. Both wingers looked frustrated making the runs and ball not being played at the right time. Still lacking those clear cut chances. That is what happens with possession-based teams when the opposition sits back.

I'm still content with the direction we're traveling in. I agree with nearly every other Burnley fan in the world that would like to see a mobile central striker added.

Far more positives than negatives. A number of very good showings. I thought THB looks like a very good player. Very composed about for one poor clearance near the end.

I think we’ll have more luck and wins away from home this season purely because poorer home teams will be under pressure to attack us and we’ll rip them apart

1 win, 2 draws and 1 unlucky defeat!

Yes, we would all like to be saying 4 wins from 4 but with a completely new squad, I think we should be fairly happy with that so far in my personal opinion.

Didn’t see the game (currently sat in Tenerife airport waiting to come home) but the match stats suggest complete game domination with us lacking the finishing touches in the final third which is always the most difficult part to get right on a consistent basis. It’s surely got to be better than hoof ball tactics that so many of us were sick of the sight of.

Twine still to come and Churlinov imminent ought to help but I am in the camp of ‘please buy a new striker’ even if such a player might cost us a fair whack!
