Muric 8, looks very good
THB - 9 rightly MOM
Taylor 6, OK, just
Roberts 6, I expect more from him
Cork 6 good build up play, exposed on the counter
Vitinho 5, not in the game
Cullen 7 - steady and reliable
Maatsen 7, good first half, quieter in second
Bastien 5 - should impose himself more on game
Jayrod 7, good first goal, should have squared the ball before that and should have buried chance in second half, otherwise looking ok
Brownhill 6, industrious, should also have buried his chance of Jayrod's lay off

Subs
Benson 4, insufficient
Tella 6, looks very quick and technical, not involved enough
Barnes - no rating for his short cameo

Muric 6 nothing to do.... again
Roberts 6
Harwood Bellis 8 looked a quality CB, and aimed great breaks forward
Taylor 6
Maatsen 7 looks our main genuine wide threat
Cork 6 not sure him and Cullen are needed at home, it's very sideways and simple
Cullen 7 really makes us tick
Vitinho 6 a decent first half , but got worked out and tired
Brownhill 6 chose the wrong far to often when he got the crafted chance
Bastien 6 not sure LW is his position, wants to come inside too much, got knocked off to easily
Jay Rod 7 minus 1 for the miss wnd half , and wrong option 1st half

Tella 6 looks quick and lively, but with no real threat
Benson 4 like a dog with a balloon, all the pace in the world, but abysmal end product.

Muric 7 - Heart in mouth stuff but it’s the way he’s been told to play
Roberts 5 - Not a CH and generally his 2nd touch is a tackle
THB - 8 Great game and won virtually everything
Taylor - 4 Sorry Chas but you ain’t a CH, distribution is poor and you slow the game to a virtual stop
Vitinho 6 - Didn’t really get into the game so had little opportunity to shine
Brownhill 7 - Came to life 2nd half and was a driving force
Cork 7 - Played it simple and we are a much better team with him in
Bastian 5 - A bit lightweight and again didn’t show much
Cullen 7 - Obvious talent but not been the same force as Huddersfield 1st half but he was unplayable then
Maatsen 7 - 1st half excellent and should have had more of the ball given to him. 2nd half Hull stopped him and he didn’t have as much influence
Jay 7 - Better option than Barnes and got himself in the right area. Thought he should have buried the chance 2nd half

Tella 6 - Quickened the play up and looked lively. Maybe has to start Saturday instead of Bastian
Benson 5 - Better than Watford but not as good as Luton. Needs to be more direct
Barnes N/A

Hopefully Twine is back soon and at least another couple of strikers through the door before the end of the transfer window

Muric 6
Roberts 7 - ok
Harwood-Bellis 8* - classy
Taylor 6 - one crucial error
Maatsen 7 - very good again
Cork 6- better in second half
Cullen 7
Brownhill 6 - poor tonight esp. at dead balls
Bastien 6
Vitinho 7
Rodriguez 7 - looked lively and took his chance well

Benson 6 shows for the ball but very raw

Muric 7
Maatsen 7
Taylor 5
THB 8
Roberts 6
Cork 6
Cullen 7
Bastien 4 Just anonymous in every game for me, not offering anywhere near enough.
Brownhill 5 similar to Bastien, not suited to the attacking midfield role, not clinical enough and doesn't commit men.
Vitinho 5 starved of the ball, all down the other side.
Jay 6 Andre Gray scores twice tonight, Ings scores a hattrick tonight.

Benson 3 way off the required standard, Dane Richards mk2
Tella 4 one sharp turn that got his man booked, didn't do much else.

Muric - 7. Didn’t really have a chance with the goal, but otherwise some decent claims and good distribution.

THB - 8 very solid performance. A great burst through the defence and a beautiful pass that Benson ought to have done better with.

Taylor - 7. Good all round performance. Having to stop myself from urging him to run deeper now he’s a CB. I felt he and THB both had a couple of runs from deep that split their lines and I believe there may be some mileage out of that if we’re meeting teams that sit deep

Roberts - 6 a bit meh. 3rd game in a row where I don’t really have much to say about him

Cork and Cullen - 7 lumping them in together, they were both solid and industrious enough and kept play ticking but it’s becoming clear that we’re not shifting the play quick enough. Sometimes it’s on them, they don’t spot the pass or get the ball out quick enough or…..

Vitinho - 5 ……The movement is poor. Id really like our attacking players as a unit to start trying to go past their man more. This lad clearly has the pace and skill to try things but he looks to have the ball stuck under his feet at times.

Bastien - 5 I don’t think he had a great game at all but I certainly feel there’s a player in there somewhere. I’m just not sure this role is right for him. He strikes me more as a box to box midfielder, carrying the ball but he looks lost as a creative outlet, which is guessing is what he’s supposed to be in this role.

Brownhill - 5 can’t really fault his effort and industry and is in and around the box trying to make things happen.

Maatsen - 7 what we saw of him was great, he just doesn’t get it enough. Get the ball out to him quickly, often please.

Jay - 7 much better feel to us with Jay rather than Barnes. I feel like we commit that many bodies in the midfield area that we struggle to get bodies in the box sometimes, so like Barnes he looked a bit too isolated. This improved in the second half.

Benson - 4. Ouch. Didn’t want to know after he got kicked last week and his end product in this game was shocking. He deserves time and patience but there can be no denying it was a poor showing.

Tella - 7 Fast, exciting and wanted to beat his man and make things happen. We improved when he came on. He should start over Bastien next game I feel.

Barnes - had to leave early and didn’t really see much of him so no rating.

Another game where we’ve dominated possession but struggled to turn that into penetration and looked very susceptible to being caught out on the break.

There is a good side in here somewhere without a doubt. The movement, and willingness to go past a man in the final 3rd, along with moving the ball faster is what I’d like to see.

Muric 6 - Couple of nice saves second half. Incredibly comfortable on the ball and crucial to this style, but will cost the odd goal.
Roberts 6 - Very quiet first half, but I believe that was often due to lack of movement ahead of him.
Harwood-Bellis 8 - Looks a cut above. Lost the plot with Roberts at one point. Finding the confidence to take charge.
Taylor 6 - Got caught for the goal, but otherwise solid, including a very good block second half.
Maatsen 7 - Superb player. They didn;t choose to use him as much second half, although he was always in space. First half was excellent.
Cork 7 - Really makes a difference to how we play, his workrate and passing in the middle tonight was very good.
Cullen 6 - That first half pass for Maatsen was immense, but otherwise he didn't make an awful lot happen tonight.
Brownhill 7 - Struggled for first half hour, but thought he made up for it second half. Always trying to make something happen and attack the box.
Bastien 6 - Looked sharper second half, but want to see him trying to make things happen rather than always the safe pass.
Vitinho 6 - Too static first half, but was far better second half, both him and Roberts pushing more down the right.
Rodriguez 7 - His movement definitely helped the team tonight. Good goal and overall I thought he did well.

Benson 6 - Better tonight. Just lacking composure, but that will come with time and experience.
Tella 6 - Didn't do a massive amount, but think he is going to be very good for us. Seems well up for it.

Muric 7 think made his first save tonight some decent passing.
Roberts 6 really thought he’d flourish under Kompany think Lowton would be better at moment.
Maatsan 7 excellent run and pass for goal.
Taylor 5 looks so uncomfortable in his new role need better.
THB 8 very good again especially his passing and a great run in the 2nd half.
Cork 6 ok but a bit slow at times.
Cullen 7 brought a bit of energy and involved in the goal.
Bastien 5 very slow and ponderous again.
Vitinho 5 offered very little should have broke the net in 2nd half.
Brownhill 5 tried hard but his final ball is often poor. As above should have broke the net when put through on the right. Also worrying that another manager deems him good enough to take free kicks and corners!!!
Jay Rod 6 good goal should have scored in 2nd half and pulled it back in first when clean through.

Benson 3 let’s hope he improves!
Tella 5 great run when he came on then offered little else.
Barnes 4 didn’t touch the ball thought he’d have come on alongside Jay given the amount of ball we had.

Loads of possession some decent stuff at times. Just need to be more incisive with our passing. 3 or 4 more decent signings needed.

As predicted prior to the start of the season we don't look to have goals in the team. Calamitous goal to give away but other than that we dominated completely without ever looking like scoring.

Slow and ponderous build up through the middle with little movement up front doesn't bode well but lightening speed on the wings always meant there was hope that something might happen.

For 25 minutes in the second half it was thrilling but Muric created more excitement in the box than anything the rest of the team did..

We are solidly mid table at the moment- we need a striker.

Muric 6 - creates a lot tension but had no saves to make and retained possession well albeit with the air of a man about to do something disastrous..
Taylor 6 - knocked one point off because he consistently came inside (like a left back) and ignored Maatsen out wide. Narrowed the play...!
Thb 8 - impressive display..
Roberts 6 - functional
Maatsen 6 - found lots of space out wide but often ignored by team mates. Need to change his anti perspirant or something
Cork 7 - decent (ish) game
Brownhill 7 - decent game
Cullen 8 - I thought he played really well in the centre
Jay 7 - did ok but he's never been quick and he's not as quick now as when he wasn't that quick before
Vitinho 6 - he's quick , quick and erm quick
Bastion 6 - did ok

Teller 5 - didn't do a lot
Benson 6 - quick and not as bad as other have suggested but final ball a bit Vitinho

Muric 7...decent game nd has finally made a save. Still makes me nervous mind you.
Roberts 5...improved in the second half after e generally poor fit=rst half.
THB 8...really good and a nice surge forward at one point
Taylor 6..solid but too slow to move the ball on a number of occasions
Cork 7
Cullen 7
Bastien 6....bit of a "nearly man" atm
Vitinho 6...started well but faded second half before being subbed
Maatsen 7...great cross for the goal...we need to get him, and the other wide men, round the back more somehow as this is the only real way I see us scoring goals. If we're going to be a low-budget Man City we need to somehow emulate the main way they score goals !
Brownhill 6..industrious as ever but I just don't see I'm scoring many and it bothers me that VK seemingly thinks he will
Jay 6...feels better with Jay than Barnes but knocked one off for not burying that chance to win the game

Tella 6...looked to have some skills
Benson 4....really poor delivery and that terrible right-footed swing at a reasonable opening

Some low scores against a team who were crude and parked the bus aided by a crap ref. Our football was very good at times.
Muric 7
Roberts 6
Harwood-Bellis 8 mom.
Taylor 7
Maatsen 8
Cork 8
Cullen 7
Brownhill 7
Bastien 6
Vitinho 6
Rodriguez 7

Benson 3 not exactly happening for him.
Tella 7

Unbelievable that some people are writing players off after not even 4 games. Absolute weapons.

Muric - 7 - Did OK with saves. At last made one which was decent. Footwork is mostly very good.
THB - 9 - Very impressed with his judgement. MOM
Taylor - 7 - Mostly very good. Made some forages forward and put a great ball in near the end.
Roberts - 7 - Puts himself about the place. Some very good footwork on the edge of the box. Not totally convincing.
Cork - 7 - I think he reads the game very well.
Vitinho - 6 - OK but a little quiet.
Cullen - 8 - A very nice footballer. His through ball for Maatsen was wonderful. I wish he had greater aerial presence.
Maatsen - 7 - A very good first 45. An excellent cross putting it on a sixpence for JR.
Bastien - 5 - Perhaps he was asked to play in that role to keep Maatsen free. Maatsen seemed quieter after he went off. Didn't do much but bottled his
chance, again.
Jayrod - 7 - Really pleased he scored. Was alive and made the ideal run for it. However, he could have won it when he scuffed his chance and missed the
pullback for Brownhill (I think)
Brownhill - 7 - Generally good.

Subs
Benson - 5 - Panicked when through near the end. OK.
Tella - 6 - Lively but didn't do much.
Barnes - Not really enough time to rate.

Muric 6- Lucky to not cost us points with a very dodgy kick first half. Need to see the goal again but I didn't feel like he was in a great position.
Roberts 5- Still not seen anything to suggest he's better than Lowton. Bad on the ball and lucky not to cost us a goal at the end of the first half.
Belis 7- Thought he had a decent game today.
Taylor 6- Didn't move the ball quick enough.
Maatsen 7- Class and was criminally underused with all the space he had.

Cork 6- Decent.
Cullen 7- Good player, very good passer.
Bastien 6- Not sure where or what position he should be playing but I don't think we've seen enough from him yet.
Brownhill 6- Works hard but lacks the ability to work in tight spaces. We need a number 10 desperately. Interestingly Brownhill made a lot of good runs in behind Jay but we never really played the ball in the right areas.
Vitinho 5- Too weak.

Jay- 7 Much better fit in the system than Barnes. Plus 1 for the goal.

Benson 4- Thought he was pretty shocking.
Tella 6- looked lively.

Muric 6 covered well
Roberts 6 no lack of effort but average
Harwood Bellis 8 a class act assured
Taylor 7 good when let off his leash .
Maatsen 6 quality but a bit restrained Muric 6
Cork 6 engine room and ticked over well
Cullen 7 industrious and forming a backbone
Vitinho 5 looks the part but ultimately a 1m Brazilian
Brownhill 6 huff n puff good work rate
Bastien 5 not so sure ,quick lively though couldn’t open up
Jay Rod 7 good to see him start , good movement, goal and good chance but slipped

Tella 6 like to see him start
Benson 5 wayward but fast

Painfully slow to watch but we’re close

Muric 7 - Best game in Claret and Blue.
Roberts 5
THB 8* Gets what Kompany wants and dealt with an awkward front man
Taylor 6 Great defensively, way too negative on the ball
Maatsen 7
Cullen 7
Cork 7
Brownhill 7
Bastien 5 Shows glimpses, fast over the Turf but needs to bed in
Vitinho 6
JayRod 7
Tella 7
Batsen 5 End product lacking but would be ideal in a stretched game.

Muric 6 nothing really to do
Roberts 6 generally defended well and looked to have great feet to set Vitinho up second half.
Matsen 7 cracking ball to Jay and both a threat and outlet, Fell away when Tella came on occupying his space
THB 8 strong and solid though this isn’t without seeing the goal again
Taylor 6 fairly solid and carried ball forward late on, though looked to be at fault for the goal
Cork 6 strong and combative, little wasteful first half
Cullen 7 grew into the game, lovely pass to release Matsen and played another couple of nice passes second half round the box
Brownhill 6 pressed well from the front but he’s not a 10 and he’s not going to get enough goals in the position
Jay 7 much better with him up top however he should have scored at-least one more
Vitinho 5 direct but ran away from our men in possession, looking for ball over the top way too often. He’s not an attacker for me, merely a utility / back up option to cover a few positions. We need better in attack than him
Bastien 5 Ok first half and helps release Matsen but I described his performance to someone as ‘an almost man’. The passes and flicks are almost good but they just aren’t coming off.

Not sure the subs were on long enough, but I thought Tella looked bright, Benson absolutely awful (could well be a dud that lad) and Barnes…… I don’t need to say a thing 🤮

Muric 6 - this guy gives me kittens, but suppose it’s the way he’s been told to play
Roberts 5 - A weak link tonight I thought
THB 8 - starting to impress more and more - MOM
Taylor 4 - one big error, and he slows the game to a crawl at centre half. Poor distribution, is not a centre half
Maatsen 7 - gets in good positions and brain seems to be quicker than others
Vitinho 5 - Ineffective
Brownhill 7 - Better in second half
Cork 6 - being outshone by Cullen and Brownhill, but played it simple
Bastian 6 - final ball again lacking
Cullen 7 - really like him
Jay 7 - big chance missed second half, took goal well

Tella 6 - looked lively
Benson 4 - ineffective
Barnes N/A

Special mention to the people around me in NU2 at the end - a few boos (amazingly), and someone leaving after 85 minutes calling us “boring again” to his mate (not sure what game you were watching)

Muric 6
Roberts 5
Harwood-Bellis 8 Defended well, made some good forward runs but he`s not Beckenbaur
Taylor 6 Just a bit more pace on the passes please Charlie
Maatsen 7
Cork 6
Cullen 6 Thought he would be more creative than what he is
Brownhill 6
Bastien 6
Vitinho 6
Rodriguez 8 MoM Worked hard, held the ball up well and brought other players into play, took his goal well could have done better on a
couple of occasions

Benson 5 No end product, reminds me of Lennon
Tella 5 Worth a start

Given that this new team is only 4 games in, this was very promising again. There are a few things to sort out and clearly a few positions to improve the personnel in but it's difficult not to be positive about how things are shaping up.

There is such a thing as too much passing and we're often getting bogged down in a very congested central area on the edge of their box.

It's nice to see but the ball doesn't need to constantly be passed first time. Take a touch, have a run with it.

Jay is way better than Barnes but he's the only one moving up top, the rest are static a lot of the time so it's easy to defend against us.

Muric - 7 little chance with the goal, decent otherwise

Roberts - 5 struggled in the air, unsurprisingly and slowd things down a bit going forward. Lovely skill to set Vitinho up mind.

Harwood-Bellis - 8 we've got another top centre half here at Burnley

Taylor - 5 not a top centre half and was caught for the goal because of it. Far too many times he was unwilling to open up and play the ball down the line for Maatsen but it's because he's not used to the positioning.

Maatsen - 7 clearly we'd be lost without him so far. Dream ball in for the goal.

Cork - 7 vital

Cullen - 6 lovely pass to set Maatsen up and there was another nice one later in to Brownhill but he was a bit more ponderous and moved things too slowly despite having more time and space than he did v Luton

Vitinho - 5 in and out of the game but not necessarily through choice. Not really a winger is he.

Bastien - 6 still adjusting to this league and probably not quiet in the right place for him as he gets the ball too often with his back to goal.

Brownhill - 6 better second half as he found more space and shod have had another goal. Duff set pieces.

Rodriguez - 7 very good, plenty of clever movement, lots of hard work and a fine finish. Lovely cushioned header to set Brownhill up. Unlucky the one in the second half just got away from a decent connection. Needs a partner though and not Barnes.

Tella - 5 quick. Another one clogging up the middle though.

Benson - 4 unconvincing so far but has some potential. Massaged to get in dome good areas but the end product was somewhat lacking.

Patience, patience, patience. This is a huge work in progress.

Muric 7 despite heart in mouth stuff did well
Roberts 6
THB 8 mom
Taylor 6
Maatsen 7
Cullen 6
Cork 6
Vitinho 6 raw but there’s a player in there
Brownhill 6
Bastien 6 did well in patches
JRod 7 Far more movement than Barnes. Should have had more.

Subs

Tella 6 some good moments
Benson 4 zero end product

A work in progress and posession good but I’m not convinced this is winning football. Some poor balls and touches in the final third. We don’t look anywhere near threatening enough or physical enough for this league either. This does not look like a promotion winning team …yet.

Muric 6 not a lot to do
Roberts 5 poor passing dodgy tackling, and kept running into Vitinhos space
Harwood-Bellis 8* quality
Taylor 5 sloppy with his passing, and missed a wide open Brownhill first half
Maatsen 7 great when on the run, but takes the ball square when he needs to be side on, it's just negative and limits his options.
Cork 7 brightest of the Midfield
Cullen 6 has a great eye for a pass but underhit far too many, getting picked off willy nilly.
Brownhill 7 thought he looked bright, but too few showing for the ball.
Bastien 7 like this guy, gets stuck in, pulls his market about, and makes good runs that aren't picked up by the man on the ball
Vitinho 6 struggled to get into it, but some of the balls played out to him were shocking, why would you loft the ball directly to a closely marked midget. Too often when the ball played down his side Roberts was closing down his space when he should have been pulling players away from him.
Rodriguez 7 should have played a pass with his early chance, but looked more comfortable than Ash.

Benson 5 what can you say, if only we had a 12ft striker
Tella 7 not on long, but looked very bright, and quick. Look forward to see him get a full match. Probably a better option up top than Jay or Ash as he is a lot quicker .
