Wycombe have enquired about him. Would you let him go?

Yes happily if it saves us a wage, let's be realistic he's only going to play if both BPF and Muric are injured or suspended.

Yes. Nothing for him at Turf Moor as far as playing goes. But Muric needs serious competition for his place and he won't get it from Peacock Farrell. Needs resolving.

I don't know if Wycombe want him permanently, but a loan with a recall option might suit both parties until we sign another keeper.

Just a thought.

Any back up keeper now needs to be good with his feet/distribution in order to fit seamlessly in that’s for sure.

BPF is fine. We can’t expect to have two goalkeepers who are real quality. What we need is someone who can do a competent job if injury/suspension occurs. BPF played enough league games last season to prove he can do that

Yes if we have a recall on Jensen from Stanley, due to injury.

Let him go if we have a replacement. He’s not good enough.

I don't know yet if we have one keeper who is quality. Muric has had precious little to do in the 4 games he has played other than operating as a sweeper and some of his distribution has placed us under undue pressure. And of course of the 4 shots the opposition have had on target, 3 of them have ended up in the back of the net, 2 he could do nothing about but i question his positioning and as a result attempt to stop the shot from the Hull striker on Tuesday.

Has to go-be easy to replace and upgrade. Get the wage bill down. One or two more to follow from the elder brigade too

We had two quality keepers when we had Heaton as first choice and Pope as his understudy. I know it's hard but it can be done and is what we should be aiming for.

To be fair, very few people expected Pope to have the impact he did replacing Heaton, he was not on many peoples radar. I think if Norris leaves that is fine, but I wouldn’t write him off for performances to date; there could still be a top class keeper in there once he gains confidence.

That's a bit different, though because that was the Premier League and you need two first-rate keepers in the PL.

As for Norris, not good enough.

There was a period when we had Nick Pope, Tom Heaton, Joe Hart and Anders Lindegaard on our books. All full internationals.

One mistake by your GK can cost you all the points, particularly if you cannot score at the other end. Both Peacock Farrell and Norris got their chance the end of the season before last when Pope had his operation, and lets be honest were both shocking. Never seen our two centre halves ball out before at their keeper for making basic mistakes. Would rather develop Jensen but in the mean time we need a good number two and thats not Farrell

I think we'll be looking to move on Norris, Lowton and Long before the window is out. How much interest we get in them is another question.

I'm sure VK has mentioned finding a loan for Bobby Thomas too - though that must feel like a kick in the teeth when Egan-Riley has far less experience.

Except that Heaton wasn't happy as 2nd choice.
That's why he left.

But he is seemingly quite happy at Old Trafford sat on the bench...

Might not be sat on t'bench much longer if De Gea keeps shaping like he did at Brentford.

I read they were looking for a deputy for De Gea which I find astonishing!

Indeed. Money helps, and he had an injury at Villa which may have affected his decisions.
But it does show the problem with us trying to keep two good goalkeepers happy

ManU reportedly after Begovic. If Tom is free I’d have him back yesterday but it won’t happen. Not with this current fascination with footballer keepers, it won’t last.

I'd offer to drive him there myself but with fuel prices being what they are I could send him a link to the bus timetable. He should go for his won career

Is Norris more then a number three goalkeeper though. Is he in effect part of the goalkeeper coaching team?

I’d take Jon Ander Vilar Robinson over Will Norris
