New Sean Dyche podcast

Training Ground Guru Podcast has just released a new episode starring Sean Dyche. I personally found it very interesting, discussing styles of football, anecdotes, the board, the media and the vision.
I listened via apple podcasts but i assume it's on all the usual platforms.
Let me know your thoughts?

Found the section about his exit from Burnley really interesting. Definitely makes me feel more comfortable with the timing of his sacking.

Never tire of listening to Sean Dyche, a very interesting, open, honest and shrewd operator. Only listened to the part from his sacking onwards and confirms what a lot suspected - that he was pushing for the squad to be refreshed 3 years ago, but a combination of COVID and Garlick seeking a buyer for the club meant there was little money spent.

Fascinating.
Think this brings home how magnificent his achievements were and what has actually been built by him in the circumstances.
I'm with Herts, i'll never tire of listening to him. I think he is very fair that had things been different and we'd have refreshed when he'd wanted a few years ago (barring covid and takeover) it could have continued for a while yet.
Still sad it ended like it did but he's decent enough to acknowledge there was no time for sentiment.

I see he trotted out the line about getting booed off in his first season again - I'm not sure he ever did to be honest, certainly not in any significant numbers.
Interesting to hear him talk of managerial opportunities, both when he was at Burnley and also how he'd be open to discussing any job.
He's very keen to dispel the long ball / Brexit football stuff, but that's going to be easier said than done and I think ultimately it will cost him jobs because fans don't want to see that - not that the long ball stuff was nearly as bad as it was made out to be.
I'm absolutely fascinated to see where he will end up and if he'd have anything like as much success as he did here.

It was interesting hearing another angle from a slightly different side & how he felt about his time whilst here refreshingly honest, he’ll be back managing before long he’s too good not to.

I cannot recall Dyche or the team getting booed off in his first season? Bit of artistic licence there me thinks.

I can’t remember it. What I can remember is everyone getting behind the team.
SD has been watching far too many PM questions. I always thought he did an awful lot of talking, but he never really said owt. Like most politicians. Strike that…. ALL politicians. He could be downright rude at times too.
I liked him. He’s a likeable character.

My memory of it was the team were awful at times and yes they got booed off at times.
It came out after several players had been offered contracts on half wages for the next season and they had taken their bat and ball home.
I distinctly remember telling people at work we needed to give SD 6-10 games and if the same football was served up and we were into bottom 6 he needed to be sacked.
I don’t think we were out of the top 8 all season and I had to eat my pre season words.

Enjoyed that. Thanks for sharing. Really interesting hearing his interpretation of various 'myths' as he called it. Found Sean's habit of cutting the interviewer off mid question a bit frustrating.

Really interesting insight from Sean. What an incredible job he did for us over 9+ years.
Unlikely to ever see this again. The gap between the PL and Championship is massive now and spending power will determine stability and success.

Some of those matches in his first season were very grim and, while it probably wasn't the whole stadium booing as one, there were definitely groans of discontent from the stand. Home game against Hull on a very cold night springs to mind but my memory may be playing tricks.
I can still see him at West Brom. Bruce already getting some heat from the fans, relatively local to SD etc.

Losing 1 nil to Blackpool away. Horrendous Chris McCann had a stinker didn’t clap the fans. Never rated him believe he was captain? Or maybe it was Shackell.
Great podcast tho. He’d deffo run his course at Burnley but a very likeable guy and brought the good times to turf.

I wouldn’t say he was booed but the team was after those four midweek performances against Middlesbrough, Huddersfield, Barnsley & Hull.
