I'm guessing the 1100 may be somebody's estimate (as per the other round number asterisked ones)? Though-there's no explanation of what the asterisk means on this screen shot.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 11:47 amShows how hard it can be to gauge numbers, I wouldn't have thought there was more than 700 from Hull
I remember when they brought around 50 and I think you are correct with the match.ArthurShelby wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 12:07 pmMillwall have a very poor away following.
Can’t ever remember a time they have brought more than a few hundred to the Turf.
Sure one time they brought about 50. Nathan Dyer scored for us and Cotterill was the manager.
I remember a fair view turning up and re-decorating the CFS.Jamesy wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 12:34 pmI remember when they brought around 50 and I think you are correct with the match.
I was sat in Bob Lord counting them. It didn’t take long. I think I counted 48 but allowed for one or two more who may have been in the toilets.
P!ss poor supporters are Millwall. Only come out when they are winning, or it’s West Ham or Leeds.
Seems to be estimates based on pictures of fans. I don’t know why clubs don’t just publish the figures. Looking at this angle, which isn’t the best to gauge empty seats, it looks around the 1,000 mark I’d have said?
Think that was when we were 4 up at half time. Can't remember if they starting ripping up the seats before or after they pulled 3 back.dougcollins wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 1:00 pmI remember a fair view turning up and re-decorating the CFS.
That was the 99/00 game when we won 4-3. It was lively all day in town and continued during the game and after. It may have been the following season when a few clubs were banned from going there and Millwall going to them. Think it was us Wolves and Forestdougcollins wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 1:00 pmI remember a fair view turning up and re-decorating the CFS.
Around the time the Burnley SYS was in its pomp and one of the top mobs in the country.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 1:33 pmThat was the 99/00 game when we won 4-3. I think it may well have been after the 4th goal went it. They were clearly very unhappy about it.JohnDearyMe wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 1:31 pmThink that was when we were 4 up at half time. Can't remember if they starting ripping up the seats before or after they pulled 3 back.
If I remember correctly, we were also supposed to be banned at the Den but then about a week before the game we were allocated about 250 tickets. I went down with Boundary and Rocky, myself and about 6 others got left in the pub at London Bridge before the game when the coaches left without us! Had to hastily get 2 taxis to get to the ground.distortiondave wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 1:23 pmMillwall fans were banned one season when we drew 2-2. I think it was on TV and I think Kevin Davies scored at least one of their goals.
I would guess that was before Nathan Dyer's time here, but I can't be sure.
that's cause most of them are bannedArthurShelby wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 12:07 pmMillwall have a very poor away following.

Yeah, wasn't that the reason we banned them?Leisure wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 1:48 pmIf I remember correctly, we were also supposed to be banned at the Den but then about a week before the game we were allocated about 250 tickets. I think it was the other way around. We'd banned their fans and they were going to do the same for us but relented shortly before the fixture and allowed about 250 or so of our fans.Wembley09 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 3:46 pmYeah, wasn't that the reason we banned them?
Millwall announced our fans would be banned from attending the fixture at the Den that season (due to some trouble outside the ground with the fans the season before) so they banned Burnley fans due to police concern. Burnley FC had the chance to appeal the decision, but instead we just banned their fans from coming to Turf Moor the same season.
But with it being a midweek fixture game live on Sky, I think Burnley knew they wouldn't be losing out on much revenue from away fans.
That was 2002/03 and Davies did score.distortiondave wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 1:23 pmMillwall fans were banned one season when we drew 2-2. I think it was on TV and I think Kevin Davies scored at least one of their goals.

It went off most weeks around then.
Am I right in thinking this is the game Akinbiyi picked Dyer up when he scored and lifted him up like the World Cup ?ClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Aug 19, 2022 8:14 pmThat was 2002/03 and Davies did score.
The game when Dyer made his debut was 2005/06 when four players were sent off.
