Lift to Burnley game this weekend.

Post by CozzaClaret » Fri Aug 19, 2022 12:22 am

Due to the train strikes happening i am unable to get to turf moor on Saturday against Blackpool. Coincidentally i live in the Blackpool area and wondering if anyone is able to give me a lift or have any ideas on how i can get there without having to spend £200 on taxis. Thank you in advance.

Absolute nightmare mate. Sorry I can't help. take it you've thought of being a fake tangerine for forty miles each way or so and don't fancy it? Sure there are some Fylde based Clarets on here.

Can’t help with a lift, but you could get a bus.

If you don't get any luck on here Id pop on the Blackpool messageboards and see if there are any Blackpool fans who wouldn't mind taking you with them. Most people in life are good willed and often happy to help where they can plus with petrol prices they might be thankful of someone to share the cost

I bet he'll be happy to do it for at least half of the £200 in taxis you mentioned 😁

Me and my mate once got a lift to Grimsby in the League Cup in 2007. (Won on penalties)

Sorted it on the old Clarets Mad board, sure the guys name was Keith, wonder if he posts on here.

We would of only been 15  He would probably get done for taking us at that age in this day and age.

If you post on here…. Cheers Keith

I too got help that day. Wrote off my car on Keighley mid afternoon: got a lift with some WYClarets and then a lift back to Colne with some of CT’s friends after the game. Good job we won!

Thank you again for the offer. My mum is making my brother to take me to the game so i will no longer be needing a lift. Thank you again for your generosity.

Once picked up a claret thumbing on the M6 near knutsford on our way to Oxford in the league cup 1982.
He had no money, we paid him in, bought him beer and dropped him off in Burnley centre after the match
