Ryan Giggs for poet laureate?

Post by bfcjg » Fri Aug 19, 2022 10:51 am

Published from the trial on national sites so not prejudicial, just a moving, touching heart felt Keates,Byrom inspired collection of words that mere mortals couldn't put together.
The next day Giggs wrote:
"My darling Kate, unequivocally our love was fate,

"I fell in love with you at first sight, I remember coz I was high as a kite,

"Those beautiful eyes made me shiver,

"I'm not gonna lie I think of you, I dream of you,

"Can't help thinking pulling you was my greatest ever coo,

"That stomach, those abs, those pictures you send so I can keep tabs."

Giggs went on: "You make me feel funny down there especially when you're there and you look up and stare.

"I'm beginning to think you are always right, that's ok it will keep us tight,

"I'm gonna end by saying you are my love my friend and my soul,

"And most of all you believe in me, which makes me feel as hard as a totem pole."

Beautiful 🥰

You see all these white middle-class fuddy-duddies going ‘we’ve got to find the new equivalent.’ And they’re looking in Oxford and Cambridge. Ryan Giggs, he’s the equivalent of Wordsworth.

What a charmer he is. I wonder what wonderful odes he penned for his brother's Mrs before wielding his totem pole at her?

You're my brother's wife
And I don't mind
Because I'm Ryan Giggs
And I'm not very nice

Gives his wife two kisses

Shags his brothers missus'

For any Claret planning to utter those emotional prose in the matrimonial boudoir a note of caution, they don't necessarily work.......according to a friend.
Must be how you deliver the lines.

To be fair, that limerick is all over social media. It was the same with this chant.

He's Welsh
He's red
He's in his brothers' bed
Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs

Vincent asked guardiola
How can I get to score?
Yes, I play for city
But stuck in the back four

Pep said, its no problem
You just need a bit of luck

It's a wind up. There are no keats or Shelley influences in those prose. Note the deliberate use of "coo" when he could simply have used the traditional spelling of the word. He's a cut above those characters.

He's obviously a disciple of his Longfellow.
