1960s BFC squad photo

I was in the Roggerham Gate earlier today and was looking at this photo.
It's way before my time though obviously there are plenty of unmistakeable faces, but there are certainly a lot who I don't recognise. I can only name 14 including Harry Potts and Joe Brown.
Can anyone shed any light on who's in this picture?

We’d also moved to round neck shirts by the end of the 61-62 season so it seems unlikely to photo was taken at the start of 62-63. Start of 61-62 seems more likely.

Certainly before that for various reasons.......I'd have it as 1961.

No Pilky on there of the title winning side and he was sold to Bolton in Mar'61.

Also, strangely, no Jimmy Robson. Perhaps he was poorly on the day of the photoshoot.

We need ClaretTony now to complete the story.

CTID......Was it 18th June 1943 for your Dad ?......In which case he would have been 18 at the start of the 1961/62 season.

You must be so proud of your Dad's scoring achievements whilst at Turf Moor.

I know I'm proud my son is called Irvine.

The information I gave of the date 1962-63 was what I found on the same photo,in a paperback book produced by the Lancs Telegraph. I've a lot of team photos over many years, but I'm unable, as yet to find anything containing the blank players names.

Great spot for Dave Merrington.

I have a folder of squad photos, lots of which I’ve downloaded from here and our former home. Some scanned from programmes. Would it be worth sharing them on here. CT might like to make it a page along with ground photos?

No worries, thanks for pointing it out, it didn't come across as picky, just fairly impolite.

As pointed out by FCBurnley, Billy Dougal and George Bray are correct.
Re adding a selection of team photos. I have lots going back to over 100 years ago. But knowing how to add them to the message board is beyond me.
If someone on here ( which will have been outlined elsewhere), then I will add them for people's enjoyment.
If I master that, I will then consider adding interesting Bfc paper cuttings, from the thousands I have, again going back to over 100 year ago.

I certainly can't offer any advice on the technical stuff, but it does sound like a grand idea.
Also, after looking into some of the players mentioned on this thread it really illustrated just what a fantastic resource of information this website is, so hats off to those behind it!

Are you printing from PC, ipad or phone, Bfc?
It is slightly different for each. Although I’ve never done it myself I believe that on a pc you can open two windows and drag and drop.
This site has a maximum of 3 photos per post with a maximum of 2Mb per post, whichever medium you are using.
I’ll await your reply and give a fuller answer.

Tricky Trevor, I have no idea about how to use computers and similar technology and It frustrates me trying. My brains are in my hands.
I could get someone who will show me what I should do.
As Chester suggested, the press cuttings could be started as a new thread. For some of us older supporters, it will recall memories of special games and results. For the younger generation, it will make them think, how lucky we were seeing some outstanding home and foreign players playing against Burnley.

I think Colin Blant was in the same year as my eldest brother at Alder Grange school in Rawtenstall.
My brother was born in 1944, so if as some have suggested, the year is 1961 then Colin would be 17.

Tricky Trevor, I just log in and write my comments. No idea about pasting your question to put here, or putting a like. I'm in my mid 70s and live on my own. So there's no one to advise me about how to right things. When I'm unable to do something on my computer I ask a neighbour to do it. Basically computers don't interest me.
A lot of my photos are framed and hang on the wall in what I call my Burnley room. The press cuttings are mainly in boxed scrap books.
