Re: REPORT: Home rule for Clarets with another three points
Good report CT, and yes we need to kill games off, plus defend set plays better, even if Wells was offside in the build-up that doesn't excuse us not clearing the resulting corner.
Disappointing to read about the steward's attitude, I know they probably get paid minimum wage, but you'd hope that someone in that role would present better interpersonal skills.
TM is once again becoming our happy place, and long may it continue.

"I must make it clear though, I’ve not been converted, I’m a Lancastrian through and through and I think my first ever visit into the county with the colourless rose was probably to a cricket match at Todmorden. "
Don't wobble Tony , keep the faith !.
Really nail on the head report, cheers.

Couldn’t agree more about the minute’s applause. The people around me were all looking at each other confused. I assume it was planned?
Re: REPORT: Home rule for Clarets with another three points
Good report CT. The steward's attitude is disappointing.

Another good report, CT. Cork is having a good run of form and Jay Rod's second half performance when he dropped deeper was as good as I've seen him since his return. There's a vibrancy on and off the field( despite the steward) and long may it continue. Interesting to see your comment on the 70th minute applause which again I'm in total agreement with.

Re: REPORT: Home rule for Clarets with another three points
Thanks Tony. Out of interest, how many points do you think we "should" be on this season, based on our performances?
Re: REPORT: Home rule for Clarets with another three points
I knew / expected the 70th minute applause from watching the Villa game on Sky on Friday. In that game during the applause the ball went out for a Saints throw in and the player waited until the applause ended to restart the game. Bristol City got a corner during that minute, not saying it shouldn't have been taken however I was glad when the minute was over to be able to concentrate on the game.

Re: REPORT: Home rule for Clarets with another three points
The applause was odd. I never heard any pre-game announcement and it must have been off-putting for the players. As CT alluded to in the report they almost scored from the corner. Personally, if it was to happen at all, the ref should have stopped the match and let the players applaud also.

That’s what happened in the Sky game, Wolves v City.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Sun Sep 18, 2022 7:35 pmThe applause was odd. Great report. Having a minutes applause during the game for something of that magnitude was bonkers.

Great report Tony and thanks.
As I can’t get to games now and not be able to use my season ticket , these reports are so important to me and keeps me updated on the team’s performance etc.
Look forward to the next one from Cardiff at the beginning of October

Enjoyed reading that report. It's only the second game I've missed and reading a balanced view of the game is most helpful.
I was fearful of City as I have only heard and seen good things about them. To read that we were by far the better team is highly encouraging.

"I thought Brownhill should have shot himself" - that's harsh.
As for Todmorden, I believe if you stay by the entrance and the old tearoom, and avoid the bar, you can stay in Lancashire. But then again, Yorkshire beer is said to be pretty good ...
Thanks for the report.

“…I was part of the West Yorkshire Clarets team of volunteers manning the Clarets for Foodbanks bins.
I must make it clear though, I’ve not been converted, I’m a Lancastrian through and through and I think my first ever visit into the county with the colourless rose was probably to a cricket match at Todmorden. I’ve represented this Supporters Club at Burnley FC Supporters Groups for a number of years and am always happy to help them with such a worthy cause….”
You even attend the occasional meeting over the border
Thanks, as always, for your help!

Re: REPORT: Home rule for Clarets with another three points
"I thought Brownhill should have shot himself!" I've seen some ridiculously low scores on the ratings thread but this is taking it a bit far.
As always, CT, your report is an accurate reflection of what happened as I saw it. I've always thought that. Likewise, with your ratings. Thank you for all your work.
I see our weaknesses are mostly correctable. What can not be easily corrected nor coached is attacking flair and pace. We have those aplenty. Our style will infuriate some who aren't used to patient build-up play but I'm willing to enjoy our football even if we are left frustrated at times.
Ps. I see dsr beat me to the gag!

Re: REPORT: Home rule for Clarets with another three points
Yesterday I looked at the Match Replay on Clarets+.
At about 73 mins Williams goes down just off the touch line and is hurt - genuine I think. A fellow in the crowd with a walking stick appears to offer it to him.

Re: REPORT: Home rule for Clarets with another three points
Few points from the game:
Bristol City had a few players who were real pains.. Their number 17 being one. And also their number 4 bizarrely goading the Jimmy Mac when they scored was a bit puzzling.
As for the lino on the Bob Lord side, he was useless all game, didn't keep up with play, and got the call wrong for their goal. I'm not entirely convinced it was even a corner as there was a double ricochet with Beyer. Plus he looked remarkably like Steve Cotterill
Other than a mad 20 mins against Blackpool, we have looked really comfortable at home this season, long may it continue.
