Rail Strikes - Cardiff Away

Post by bfcfan1882 » Wed Sep 21, 2022 5:59 pm

Just had this from Trainline. Let’s hope for the best once details have been finalised!

Here's what you need to know
Rail strikes have been announced for Saturday 1st October, the same day as your journey. This means there’ll be significantly fewer trains running on the day. We know how frustrating this is, and we’re going to do everything we can to help.

The exact details haven’t been finalised yet, so we’ll be in contact as soon as we know the details of any changes to your train and how to get a fee-free refund if it’s cancelled.

You can also make a fee-free change to your train in advance if your train is still running but you choose not to travel

Pretty much every train company looks like they are striking, except transport for wales.

For anyone not wanting to risk the train, Accy Clarets still have a few spare coach seats available. https://www.uptheclarets.com/messageboa ... =2&t=64038

Same for us after changing trains due to original booked one being cancelled. Probably knock it on the head now.

I'm in a similar position granny weatherwax. I'm in Sale, could I drive over to one of yours and go three ways on the petrol?

Yeah sure. Couple of options, I meet my mate at Knutsford, so you can either meet us there or come to mine in Didsbury first.

With the independence march. We are looking at parking in Newport and then getting a train to Cardiff. As far as I can tell , these trains are still on.

I'm staying in Lydney and it's not looking good - Last train to Newport departs Cardiff Central at 17:00 hrs

Looking like driving to Cardiff East then Park & Ride into City Centre.
