Sunderland away
It appears tickets go on sale 10am tomorrow, but could someone tell me when the tiers kick in for less than 6000 points etc?
I had a look on the club website but can't find the details.
Thanks in advance

Re: Sunderland away
No information released yet unfortunately. The tiers tend to be for a day or two before they drop down to the next bracket.
Price wise I’d predict the prices PNE are being charged:
Adults £29
Seniors (65+) £26
U22s £22
U16s £12

Re: Sunderland away
Got mine for a first ever visit to the SoL. Return train ticket @ £38 booked a couple of weeks back so looking forward to this one. Any idea on away pubs in Sunderland as my train gets in around 11:30 so a fair bit of time to pass. One that shows the 12:30 Sky game would be ideal, so not a Spoons

Re: Sunderland away
First time I have been looking at going on the train. I presume you have booked to Sunderland City centre? which should have plenty of pubs. The stadium of light stop is two down the line.Herts Clarets wrote: ↑Mon Sep 26, 2022 11:45 amGot mine for a first ever visit to the SoL. I have looked and would be stopping in Newcastle for a couple of hours, then the 15 minute Metro to SoL if we go on the train.

Re: Sunderland away
I looked at Newcastle then the Metro to Sunderland but the ticket price to Newcastle return was £83. Kings Cross direct to Sunderland was £38 so a no brainer.

With the ground being fairly close to the city centre there's the usual mix of pubs, cafes, chain stores and burger vans. Although once you're right next to the stadium itself it'll be burgers only. The White Rooms on Holmeside is often the semi-official away pub. As ever though, check with the local police on the day.
In the city though there are plenty of options, whether you want to gorge on Greggs, or have a few beers. For the latter, try Green Terrace, which has a canny few bars - as they say - including Fitzgeralds for those who like a real ale or two. It's about 20 minutes walk from the ground.

Re: Sunderland away
I'll be going to the Weatherspoons on Fawcett St. It's where I've always gone before the match. Always safe and decent craic in there with a good mix of fans.Leisure wrote: ↑Mon Sep 26, 2022 12:56 pmWhere To Drink

Re: Sunderland away
The Dun Cow does some nice beers just round the corner from Fitzgeralds mentioned above and next door to Sunderland Empire. Loads of pubs in town and it's approx a ten minute walk over the river to the stadium. There's also five or six pubs closer to the ground on Roker Avenue, The Wheatsheaf being the biggest and best for watching a match on TV. Not been over there in years so not sure what the reception is like for away fans.

Re: Sunderland away
Went drinking in the town centre and no problems at ali locals seemed friendly enough, although we weren't wearing colours
Re: Sunderland away
Not sure, but may be on the train for this one.
No rail strike planned, as yet for 22nd Oct.
Any ideas on best route, via Tod and Leeds or Manchester ? From Rossendale.

Re: Sunderland away
Train to York, then Newcastle then metro to Sunderland
Re: Sunderland away
There's an hourly direct train from Manchester Victoria to Newcastle, or you can go to Leeds and pick it up from there too. Best to have a fiddle and see what returns the cheapest fare.
Re: Sunderland away
Yeah will do cheers, just had a quick look at what Claretonthecoast says and it's 50 odd quid buying singles, doesn't seem too bad.
