Whinging sums him up perfectly - hence why he lost his job, the miserable b***** .

I also think Lawrenson's been an excellent pundit and co commentator. Always complementary to us and I think he'll be a sad loss. Don't think he's whinging, just highlighting the cold manner in which the BBC disposes of loyal employees.

Lawrenson was a waste of a salary. He needs to move on.

He's retirement age but what he says is that was not the reason he was dismissed. He was a bit boring but goodness me where are we when we have got Matterface?
Lawrenson once sat next to me on a flight and we and he was fine. Preston fan he said.

He should be a millionaire now and will have loads of options to carry on earning. The likes of him and Boycott need to move on and live their life.

Lancastrian’s complain of Lancastrian being dour shocker. I regret ML’s removal for the reason many of you are citing as a reason. He didn’t buy into the inane dribble and said it how he saw it.
Re: Mark Lawrenson, whinging or has he a point ?
He was retirement age but he says thats not the reason he was dismissed. He does say the BBC is scared of doing anything to upset the Woke establishment. Well we know that.
Lawrenson not a bundle of fun but look at Matterface goodness me. At lkkeast Lawro played at the highest level and new the game. In fact I sat next to him on a flight some time ago (quite a while actually before BA became London Airline) and he was fine. Preston fan. As a matter of fact I have met quite a few sportsmen on flights mainly to the Far east. I recall putting Bobby Charloton's sugar in his tea because he was shaking a bit. Has anyone else met Sports people on flights?

I've said it again below oops. What was it then? Sacked|? same thing? Relieved of his duties? same thing. Told to retire. Same thing.

Essentially this
Times change, you either change with them, or you get left behind and start to say stuff like IanMc has said on here
Problem these days is that people don't want to change, and think everyone should like what they like, and that they can't understand why stuff changes, and its just easier to deal with it if you tell yourself it all lefty woke nonsense

The most outrageous sign of PC and Woke and box ticking and all of that at the moment is in the new Lord of the Rings where Lenny Henry plays a pseudo hobbit. Lenny Henry, I mean come on. A Brummie?! Tolkien'd be turning in his grave.

Does anyone take issue with the term "old farts." Isn't this pejorative term as equally derogatory as using the ill-termed word above referring to a certain ethnicity? I may be "old" but, I am by no means a "fart". Maybe new terms are needed to differentiate degrees of "oldness" and let individuals decide which class best suits them, fart or not. Some people may have frequently used the term old fart in the past in reference to certain age groups and, over time, now genuinely believe they must be and consequently behave as an old fart.

Re: Mark Lawrenson, whinging or has he a point ?
I can't stand him but I am glad he has made a point and not given a cryptic statement like all the rest of the white middle-aged people sacked to be replaced by box tickers... I would disagree with his mention about him being a man though because it is also middle-aged white women being affected as well...
Put it this way, if I was white and middle-aged or older, working at one of the progressive TV stations, I would have been looking for another job before I was pushed a long time ago because it could not be more obvious!...
You would have to be a complete ignoramus or an ideological dullard, not to agree that the 'most well-known station in the UK' and the 'most well-known sports station in the UK', especially have been waging genocide on white middle-class presenters and in other positions.

Re: Mark Lawrenson, whinging or has he a point ?
You have to feel sorry for someone who has been paid shedloads of tax payers cash for being bang average at best over a period of 30 years. It’s incredible that they didn’t find anyone better many years ago just by picking out someone off the street and giving them a couple of training sessions.
This chap has been fed, watered and ferried to loads of World Cups and Euros etc, something that the average man can only dream about and still he whinges about it. As others have said he could just go quietly with a bit of class but there’s one thing we know about most Knobber fans which is that they have little class. We are Superior….

Equality is not an issue. Full opportunity, yes. Just don't automatically think that everything has to be this 'cross section'. Life is not like that. I have no issue with all black people on a programme, where they are the undoubted best. Just don't mix it all up on every prog, as this creates unnatural bias and often, not best.

As Ben Mee said about the use of such language ‘you’re clearly missing the point.’
You’re insulted by the use of your own language? Your original post was moderated mate. Probably says it all.
I’d be amazed if you used that language to any of our players or manager. It’s easy from your keyboard.

Re: Mark Lawrenson, whinging or has he a point ?
This is a very important point. It happens to a lot of people but most importantly the players we watch every week.
Anyone going to be up in arms when Barnes is released at the end of his contract? Or are we going to say that that is really the right decision as we’ve moved on and doesn’t fit what we do anymore.
It’s a business decision and it’s the right one

At the end of the day his time was up. He was useless and never provided any insight. He was looked after like royalty for 30 years. Go and do something else Mark and leave colour out of it.
