Is the international break a good idea?
Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere. Just thinking back to the good old days when footballers selected for their country simply turned up on a Sunday, trained together for a few days, then played their game on a Tuesday / Wednesday, travelled home on Thursday and ready for their club game on Saturday.
I know that most clubs have players from all over the globe but surely it was simpler back then and no need for wholesale cancellation of the full league programmes which most of us prefer to watch in any case.

Not sure why people have an issue with international breaks. The same number of domestic games are played every season.

No it's tedious.

Unbelievably boring but not sure if that's just England/Southgate.

I'll let you know after we've played Cardiff.
Regarding fans if you have no real interest in international footy I can totally understand why you'll find it tedious.
I only hope all our guys presently engaged on international duty come back fit and well, one advantage it might give us is allowing some of our fringe players minutes to build up their match fitness.
However, the reverse angle is it might disrupt our growing momentum.
This season especially will be unique due to the WC mid season, so clubs will have to learn how best to deal with it if they are to enjoy a successful campaign.

We should ban the summer break too.

International football died the day England appointed Gareth Southgate

Just get nicely into the season, then you have 2 week gap between games.

I really enjoyed the experience of watching the women’s game during the international break. Gave it a platform all on its own and my daughter and boys loved sitting and watching it.
Plus we had the Grand final to watch.
