Help needed - Computer issue

My computer runs Windows 10 and uses Microsoft Edge as browser. This uses Bing as a search engine.
Recently, there was a couple of updates. After the 2nd, I could not access the Internet, although the network was connected.
I have restored to earlier point without success. I have also reset the computer without success!
It says Network connected and which i open Edge, I can search. However when I click on any search result, I just get a message saying, Hmmm...can access that or words to that effect.
All thoughts welcome. Stuck, ad I can't use the Internet to do anything on the computer. Even seek support!

I'm on Windows 10 (64 bit) using Edge but my search engine is Ecosia, which actually uses Bing. My last update was the 14th September. I use Windows Defender Antivirus which updates definitions daily. My search still works fine.
There's an optional 'Quality Update' from 14th September which is optional and not installed (KB5017380).
Have you tried typing 'Google' or some other search engine into the Bing search box, or instead of using the search box use the address bar at the top.
Alternatively, if you have perhaps Google say in your Favourites, or History, you might access it there.
If you can this will at least allow you to search the internet.

Ian - you really should switch to Escocia. It runs much faster and for longer, is more refined, and delivers better results than InglaterraVista.

Yes tried Google from the edge but it just goes, like everything else, to a Bing page saying Hmmm...etc.
Not heard of Escocia.. sounds very Scottish!
Will happily explore that, should I ever get access!

* Type ping 8.8.8.8
* Copy/paste the results here
I would also recommend using a different browser than Edge. Chrome or Firefox are much better options.

I did Ping 8.8.8.8
Pinging 8.8.8.8 with 32 bytes of data:
Request timed out.
Then ended with Ping statistics for 8.8.8.8
Packets sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100%)

Yippee!
It seemed to be ok but suggested there might be an issue with the router. Reboot router and the world opened up!
Will try that Escocia later.

Glad you're sorted and apologies but Escocia isn't a real search engine - Ecosia is though. Your hunch was right, Escocia is 'Scotland' in Spanish and you can probably guess what Inglaterra(Vista) is now

Seems you have it sorted now, but this indicates your computer wasn't reaching the internet at all - so yes, rebooting the router would have been the next step!

If you try the same thing again (ping), you will see the difference now. 8.8.8.8 is the first "address" your computer uses when trying to communicate with the outside world.

8.8.8.8 is the DNS server address for google converts the name ie BBC.com into a valid site IP address there are many DNS servers you can use

That's correct. Slightly simplified my explanation above for better understanding. Vast majority of devices use Google DNS these days. I'm a network engineer by trade.
