Yep Barnes makes us worse every single time I’m afraid
He's given about 5 free kicks away and done very little else.

I would rather have one of Zaroury, Benson, Brownhill, Tella etc go down the middle as the sub for Jay (if we're protecting him) if Dervisoglu is unavailable.

We're just not confident enough to see out narrow wins, these days.
Cheers for the company, folks.

Really poor performance. Kompany’s substitutions questionable again. Brownhill off for Bastien in the 88th achieved what?

Wtf is Barnes doing seriously, led on the floor at the end when he would've been through on goal. Another 2 pts threw away at the end, like playing with 10 men with Barnes on the pitch im afraid.

Its a typical post international break performance. Lacking intensity, finesse and sharpness. Disappointing we couldn’t hold on as I thought we defended pretty well.

Not a great game but a draw away at Cardiff isn't a bad result.
Not a great performance and seemed a bit sluggish.
Definitely looked worse after the substitutions.

Maatsen is never a defender, good going forward but he can't defend he needs dropping and Taylor out left Beyer in CD.

What the hell were we doing sitting back after our goal crap today

Why is Barnes in the squad in favour of the striker on loan from Brentford Dervisoglu. I thought we had paved the way for him to not feature anymore by omitting him from the Bristol City game

Poorest game I've seen Maatsen play, responsible for their goal too imo. Not slating the lads, he's been fantastic and everyone ahs off days. Thought Taylor was immense at the back, just a tad frustrating to concede from their only real effort on goal again.

Considering we struggle with corners and crosses into the box we'll struggle to achieve anything until we get more commanding defenders, or goalkeeper.

We are conceding sloppy goals virtually every single game and until that issue gets sorted it doesn't matter how well the forward line plays.

Put Zaroury up front
I thought Zaroury was a winger, but certainly the Turkish lad and even one of the youngsters couldn't offer less than Barnes does nowadays.

Annoying we've thrown more points away, and it is a concern we can't see out games these days after taking the lead.

Keeps our unbeaten run going, but we do need to learn how to turn these draws into wins if we're serious about chasing an automatic spot.

Thought Muric was poor for the goal. Looked like he was more worried about the post than saving the header. He’s proper pap.

People like to draw parallels between Dyche and Kompany and praise how good we've been this season, but today we were really poor after taking the league. Literally parked the bus for 30 minutes. At least we usually got away with it during Dyche's era but at the moment we just can't hold onto the lead.

Positives from today: Taylor who looked comfortable and had a lot of clearances and interceptions. Cork is so calm and has that touch of experience whenever he's near the ball. Good to see Tella on the scoresheet.

I agree. The main problem for us today, especially after the subs was the fact that we couldn't retain the ball at all. I'm curious to see stats from last 15 or 10, it genuinely looked like we couldn't get near Cardiff players. If you allow them to make 10 dangerous crosses, there's a big chance one of them goes in.

I think it’s harsh on Barnes to be honest. Making 3 subs at the same time when you’re one nil up is absolutely bonkers. You might be able to make 5 subs a game now but it doesn’t mean you have to. Totally breaks up any sort of rhythm or feel for the game that the side has. Kompany needs to give his head a wobble.

Brownhill is not a number 10, I repeat Brownhill is not a number 10.
Barnes is not good enough to feature.
Tella had plenty in the tank, stop bringing him off when he has more to offer.

The whole team seemed to drop 15-20 yards deeper and allow Cardiff to attack, no idea why because we cannot defend.

At Huddersfield we saw an insane high press, strangled the absolute life out of them and made them boot it long and give us the ball back. That off the ball running/pressing high seems to have faded drastically.

By the way, do you remember how we controlled the last 10 minutes away at Huddersfield? We were 1-0 up but rarely allowed them to touch the ball. Compare that to today's display.

No coincidence how often we do this. Even with a completely new set up.
