As long as we can win our home games, a point away from home is always a good one. It's a marathon not a sprint.

A point on the road is never a bad return, but it's irksome that we let it slip late on again, however I guess if we're picking up a point while not playing well and coming within moments of all 3 we must be doing something right.

Win on Wednesday and yesterday will be classed as a useful point, and there will be times where we won't be at our best and will have to dig a few results out over the course of a long season if we're to mount a promotion challenge.

In previous seasons with Tarks and Mee we were very good at “digging in” and holding on to those leads. I’m not convinced we’ve got the backbone at the moment to carry that on. A tall strong dominant CB is a requirement for me if we intend to push on.

West Brom are the most difficult side that we've faced this season. They currently lie in 21st place.
This is what worries me. If you look at today's table - and I know it's still early days, roughly a quarter of the season - we've played no-one above Luton in 7th, and most of the teams played are in the bottom half.

It's good to be able to learn against these teams but we need to get it right by October 22nd for a stiff run of fixtures.

I wouldnt be concerned about where anyone is at this stage. There's 11 points between 3rd and 22nd. Only 4 points between 7th and 18th. It's nothing.

I'm generally happy with our start as well, but I can't help feeling it could and possibly should have been even better.

We've only lost 1, but equally we've only won 4, and there is a danger we'll become the draw specialists of the division.

When with a stronger jaw we could easily have another 3 wins on the board.

Hopefully VK will iron out these small mistakes, and we'll really hit our stride following the WC.
Draw specialists of the division? Have you actually see WBA and Preston (to name just two)?

Which is where Beyer comes in.

12 games in and folk are expecting us to be world beaters ...

We have lost one match so far with a still comparatively inexperienced squad ... how many on here expected us to be walking this division (realistically not many) I didn't ...

So far I think we are doing OK ... yes yesterday we could and should have seen it out ... but we didn't ...

It will come I am sure

Come on you mighty Clarets onwards and upwards

You're not thinking in the correct way.

When we played Bristol City, they were at the time I think 6th.

These teams we've played aren't in the top 7 because we've taken points from them.

Using this logic Norwich have only played 1 team in the top 8 as well

I thought Cardiff played well, their defence was solid and they moved the ball into space well. Disappointed not to hang on for the win but I thought the draw was a fair result. We shouldn't have made three substitutions all at once, it unbalanced the team and we lost all control of the game. I also think Beyer has to play with Charlie moving to left back, this would give us more height at the back and more balance.

You can't look at the current table with what the poster says.
For a start, you look at the table prior to when we played them and there needs to be enough games played at that time.

There's a reason why those teams aren't in the top X - because we beat or drew them and took points off them. This is basic stuff.

PNE & West Brom have each drawn 7 of their 11 matches, whereas we've drawn 6 of our 11 thus far, and in 4 of those games we took the lead, and in 3 of them we really should gone to claim all 3 points, we aren't a million miles away by any means, but we do need to start seeing these games out as turning 1 point into 3 can make a big difference come the final shake up.

One reason why I'm not worried.

We've drawn games we should have won. A new manager and about 76 new players - why be worried? I'm very very chilled and confident and as a fan, in a good place.

Not a great performance.
I doubt people are worried where we are in the table, the doubts are on the inability to see games out and hold on to leads ( even 2 goal leads as was the case at home to Blackpool.
Early on in the season for a few games we conceded first and fought back. At the time it was a popular belief this side , once we went ahead, would be able to stay ahead. While that isn't the case, I'm putting this down to it being a new side who will improve as the season goes on .

Rewind to the start of the season and some fans predicted mid table - some trying to avoid the drop.

Agreed. At this moment the table is far too fluid to make judgements on teams we’ve played. Were Watford not top when they beat us ?(could be wrong). Hull I think we’re in a good place too at the time. Other teams positions irrelevant just now.
