Pakistan v England 7th T20

Post by tiger76 » Sun Oct 02, 2022 3:59 pm

Forgot about this with all the excitement of the footy.

Pakistan win toss and are bowling, England 44-2 after 4.4 overs both openers gone in the space of 3 balls, Salt to a daft run out caused by Malan.

Woakes for Gleeson the only change.

Playing this series in Pakistan ahead of the upcoming T20 WC to be held in Australia.

209 for Engkland. Big chase for Pakistan but they have a few v good T20 batsmen.

Babar out for 4 is a huge blow to Pakistan, then the other opener Rizwan to Topley. Massively up against it now.

England wrap up a convincing 67 run victory to take the series, next up a trip to Australia for a 3 match series, then of course the WC awaits.

I think we've got a powerful squad for the WC but it depends how we cope with the conditions on the day. I think teams will be more scared of us, than we are of them TBH. Pity we haven't got the services of Johnny Bairstow and Jofra Archer though.

Bairstow in particular is a big loss as he can win a game on his own on any given day, Archer I have severe doubts over when or if he'll play for England again he's been injured for so long now.

In T20 anybody is capable of winning on the day, even some of the less established test nations such as Afghanistan and Bangladesh could prove to be dangerous floaters.

Big morale booster for England to come back and win the series in these last couple of games, shows there's plenty of character in the squad to recover from defeats as well which could be important over a tournament schedule.
