The RGB of Claret is 127,23,52 so not too far away from burgundy.

Pantone's idea of Claret is Claret red 17-1740 TCX, which is like the colour of Arsenal shirts.

Definitely more Claret than Burgundy if Dulux have owt to do with it ....

I believe we went with calling our shirts claret because in the olden days the simple folk of Burnley really struggled to pronounce the word burgundy and had no chance of spelling it or being able to read it.

I think we originally wore green because after red it was deemed the easiest colour to pronounce and spell.

We changed from Green to Claret because Green is difficult to drink.
