Leicester v Forest
Leicester v Forest
Rodgers on a very sticky wicket and a defeat tonight will not go down well with the nouveaux riches.

Re: Leicester v Forest
If Forest lose, it'll be 5 defeats on the spin. And given the trigger happy nature of Steve Coopers employers, his hold on his employment might become looser.
He probably has a bit more leeway than Rodgers, though.

Re: Leicester v Forest
It would be seven defeats on the bounce for Leicester so could be goodnight and goodbye for either (or both) of them!

Re: Leicester v Forest
I suspect Rodgers would be too expensive to pay off, as Leicester seem to have run out of money, judging by their summer activity. Cooper on the other hand has spent vast amounts after being backed to keep Forest up and has been considered too good for the Championship and not quite up to Premier previously.

Re: Leicester v Forest
I'd like to see Forest win this, be good entertainment to read the Leicester message boards. There's a bit of acrimony between the fans- mainly from the Leicester side as Forest's arch enemies are Derby County of course.
I've had a small wager on the draw- it being a derby and possibly a bit of a nervy match.

Forests defence looks wide open every time Leicester attack, particularly with the long ball.
Good chance for Vardy then.

Forest have the look of relegation favourites..... Their centre forward hits the post, then the opposition go down the other end and score a deflected goal.

Dyche to Forest! Happy ending.
McKenna turned his body away from the shot! Call that a centre back?
Tarkowski and Mee would turn in their boots!

Forest look like they play well but actually don't. If you're a neutral, you might think they're unlucky in a one off game and that they'll improve, but I'm a neutral that has now watched them half a dozen times this season and they are actually ****.

Re: Leicester v Forest
Leicester always looked to be too good, for their points return, and tonight will probably see them climb the table steadily.
Forest on the other hand look like going down. Spending the mo ey they hVe, buying the number of players they have, they thoroughly deserve to go down. I'd love to see it. Their finances would be a nightmare next season.

Re: Leicester v Forest
Forest looking like exactly what they are - a bunch of strangers put together where the system is secondary to the individual.
Not sure it’s a job for Dyche but if he’s offered it he ought to take it.

Dyche might be able to sort them, and they should take a punt on him, but Forest were going down the minute Jesse Lingard chose to sign for them, IMO.

Will Cooper make it to fulltime, the Forest owner doesn't hang about when things go wrong?

Forest have too many new players all trying to settle in .
If they get relegated then wil be favourites for a quick return.

Think Cooper will keep his job
They are all his signings
New Manager would have to sort the current squad and probably wouldn’t be able to bring any new players in

I'm sure Lingard is glad he went there for the season, it's doing wonders for his career right now

A team gets you up and then you sign 15 players to replace them! Not exactly building a team spirit!

Re: Leicester v Forest
Not many managers are good enough to take a team up to the Premier League for the first time in years and then keep them up at the first time of asking.
Wilder did it but then struggled badly the next season so its probably only Eddie Howe that did it with prolonged success but then he's proving to be one of the best managers around.
The Forest fans and Board should stick with Cooper in the same way we did when Dyche failed at his first attempt as a bit of patience and trust can work wonders in the long term as we quickly discovered.

I’d generally agree with this point DA, but do you not see Forest as a bit of an exceptional case with their spend?Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Mon Oct 03, 2022 9:47 pmNot many managers are good enough to take a team up to the Premier League for the first time in years and then keep them up at the first time of asking.

From recollection the season we initially got relegated under Dyche we had spent a bag of marbles and a used condom on Jutkiewicz and Sordell in comparison .
Although, I suppose it depends how much of a say Cooper has had on what they’ve done this summer as to whether he’s culpable.

Re: Leicester v Forest
Potentially sacking a manager after only 8 games when he's got you promoted is one of the crazy things about footy today.
If Dyche went to Boro, got them promoted then got sacked after 8 games im sure majority on here would think the Boro owners are bonkers yet here we are in the same situation with Cooper and some think he should be potted.

All the "lost" players ran off when Forest were busy spending millions and millions and millions.Milltown1882 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 03, 2022 10:02 pmHave you seen how many players they lost in summer? It’s pretty much Burnley levels of a squad rebuild.

So half their starting lineup pretty much last season weren’t on loan? And a few players out of contract that weren’t Prem standard. It was a big rebuild.

Good that the Foxes got a win. Burnmore Street Blues gone for now. Tough season in store for Forest.

Re: Leicester v Forest
Is there a way that Forest have signed so many players to then allow them to move them onto one of the Chairman's other clubs cheaply like Watford/Udinese do? I can't help thinking that having this windfall and to get round fair play for his other Greek side (?) it will benefit him at the end of the season moving them to his other club cheaply

Re: Leicester v Forest
The chairman probably signed the majority of the new signings without any or little discussion with the manager and by the looks of it very few of them are up to premier League standards.
This season is going to end in tears and deservedly so, spending 170million is an obscene amount of money from a promoted club and I for one hope they crash and burn.
