FA Cup 3rd Round Draw Thread
Re: FA Cup 3rd Round Draw Thread
FC United of Manchester v Chester FC would raise the bar to 7.
Or, if they change the rules, Oldham Athletic v Athletico Madrid for 8.

Re: FA Cup 3rd Round Draw Thread
Never.
Burnley sent an A side two years running in the mid/late 60s.
Pre season friendlies.
Believe Dobbo scored his first Clarets goal in one of them.
And we played in a friendly about 8 or 9 years ago.
Those are the only one I know of.

Re: FA Cup 3rd Round Draw Thread
Why on earth does it take half an hour to do the draw?
When it was on the radio at lunchtime in the 1960s it took five minutes at the most.
Do we really need all this inane build-up before the draw?

Well at least 5 prem lge sides to go out in the 3rd round, as they play each other , a few other shocks and a 3rd of the prem could be out in this round

Re: FA Cup 3rd Round Draw Thread
The presenter was Manish Bhasin.
He used to host the Football League highlights show on BBC many years ago. I remember one pundit saying that he presented that programme in the manner of someone doing Community Service for a crime he didn't commit.

We never seem to draw lower league sides away in the FA cup, can't remember the last time it happened.

Great draw, they’ve never beaten us in the cup… they were Bournemouth and Boscombe last time we met away in the Cup 1-1 (we won the reply, emphatically).

Two thoughts. 1) It won’t be on telly. 2) We won’t sell out.

A realistic chance of revenge even if a home tie would have been better.

Cardiff v Leeds and Blackpool v Forest look the two standout ties from that draw
Re: FA Cup 3rd Round Draw Thread
Pretty dull draw all round. Sheff Wednesday v Newcastle should be a full house with a big away following.

Re: FA Cup 3rd Round Draw Thread
The forerunner to one of the greatest days in our football clubs history when we went to Palace and won 3-0. Im not usually a fan of playing weakened teams in cup competitions but if Dyche had played his strongest team we might have only got to Wembley and never been able to watch us on TV beat the mighty Palace.

Boreham Wood and Accrington must be really p****d off. Stevenage will be quite pleased.
Bournemouth away is not the best....but we need to concentrate on the League anyway!
