The Cost of Using the WEB
Just sharing something I only learnt recently, about searching for holidays, hotels etc online.
I recently tried to book a hotel for next years Blackpool match to make a weekend of it. It wouldn't let me complete because VISA had updated it's security and I didn't have a pass code. I tried again a few days later whilst contacting VISA, she stayed online incase I had any issues. The price of the hotel in those few short days had jumped about £30.
This is the interesting bit, the lass on the phone asked me if I had a different Browser, which I do, Google and Safari, she said to try the other Browser and book it. I did this and the price dropped to the original price.......Apparently these online engines know if you've looked at an item more than once, and bump the price up because of your interest. News to me.
I've just tried to book a cheap holiday to Benidorm 1st week in January, I had to go back on because the wife had to check her dates for work, and the prices leapt again.
Armed with my new knowledge I rebooked it on Safari, 5 mins later, Same Dates, Same Airports, Same hotel and the price dropped from £796 to £574. That's a hell of a difference I thought deserved sharing on the forum.
Apparently, according to my new friend on the phone, you can set up a secret Browser, which stops sites from recognising you're a returning customer, which avoids this issue, but I haven't sussed it out yet.
I hope it helps someone.

Right click on your google chrome icon and select incognito mode. Should do the trick

I've had that happen regularly when searching air flights, either make the booking from a different computer or clear the machine's cookies/history and try again.

Re: The Cost of Using the WEB
I was researching some flights and the price increased from £1800 to £3500 over the course of a few days. Cleared the cookies and it went back down to £1800.

I think your phone will listen in too. I've never searched for flights to Seattle in my life but after a conversation about Seattle seeming a cool place to visit, a lot of ads were pushed my way.

I've had simular, it's spooky isn't it?
I had a look at leather jackets on Amazon a few days ago, now every other advert on my Facebook feed is for leather jackets.

It is the same with many sites, including insurance. Incognito mode as described above helps
