England v Wales
England v Wales
Final group game, hoping for a much better showing than against the US.
Topping the group means Senegal next, while 2nd place would mean the Netherlands.
Walker is in for Trippier, Henderson for Mount, Rashford and Foden for Saka and Sterling. Looks like it could be 4-2-3-1 with Bellingham advanced.
Roberts isn’t in the Wales 11.

Good to see Foden and Rashford starting. Looking forward to this one.

Yes just seen your thread, if England play as they can they'll emerge fairly comfortable victors.RVclaret wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 6:07 pmFinal group game, hoping for a much better showing than against the US.

I'm not sure if there's much between Senegal/Netherlands but I guess we'd rather face the Former than the latter.
England will qualify tonight but we really do need to respond to the US setback and deliver a strong showing.
Walker makes sense given the pace Wales possess, Henderson showed enough in his 20 mins against the US to deserve the nod, and his experience will be vital, Foden and Rashford are both eager to push for a start so up to them to show what they can offer.
Roberts probably misses out due to Wales reverting to a back 4.

Re: England v Wales
Come on England. Let’s put this mob on the next plane out of Qatar. I’m sick of the BBC love in for Wales. Do you think BBC Wales will be bulling England up like we are with Wales? Just turned on the telly to see about 10 mins of the sheep worriers, singing choral songs, telling us they are more passionate than us, blah blah blah. Southgate should just show a video of em jumping up and down like spoilt kids in 2016 when England lost to Iceland. COME ON ENGLAND!!!!

Re: England v Wales
It's being hyped up to buggery by ITV and BBC on my TV.
In reality it should be a total mismatch....and pretty much a foregone conclusion. A Wales win may be the best result...anything to give our utterly over-hyped over-rated squad a kick up the arse/wake up call.
In terms of quality/resources it's probably something akin to Padiham playing Burnley on Turf Moor needing a 4-0 win to upset us. England should be giving Wales an absolute lubeless bumming, but I expect a drab soulless victory with the TV companies going into full hype mode for the next few days.

I will take any positive outcome (win) for England, but more importantly is how we approach the game and the quality of the performance overall.
We surely can’t be any worse than the US game……can we?

Re: England v Wales
No good picking dynamic players, unless they are asked to play dynamic football. Playing Southgate ball is just putting a shackle on our talent.
It's all about the performance, if we go for it, no problem, if we don't get on the front foot I hope we lose.

Padiham playing Burnley? really? no wonder you're disappointed with England regularly if you think we're that good compared to everyone else.fatboy47 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 6:50 pmIt's being hyped up to buggery by ITV and BBC on my TV.

Re: England v Wales
Roberts not in start XI as you say but it looks like it may be a back four set-up for Wales rather than 3 + 2X wing-backs. We'll see when they set up. Im hoping it's a decent match; would prefer an England win but not hugely concerned about that as long as England go through (and if they don't from here there'll rightly be ructions).RVclaret wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 6:07 pmFinal group game, hoping for a much better showing than against the US.

That’s my expectations also. Probably also lacking in a technical quality , with Henderson playing also does not give me satisfaction

An absolute nothing ball from Henderson into the box then from a good attacking position

Respectfully I can't take your opinion seriously when you said Harry Kane is a s**t footballer.Colburn_Claret wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 6:59 pmNo good picking dynamic players, unless they are asked to play dynamic football. Playing Southgate ball is just putting a shackle on our talent.

About as much disguise on that free kick as night follows day
Re: England v Wales
Southgate is like a cheap imitation on Kompany ,but apart from the keeping possession bit ,that’s where the comparison ends ,Kompany has an end result,Southgate just bores you to death.

Much better from England so far. Dominating.

Better from England, but again lacking in creativity so far Rashford's chance apart it's been pretty sterile.

Re: England v Wales
Playing with just 3 attacking players with full backs staying deep is soul destroying from SafeGate. Poor Foden and Rashford are totally isolated.

Re: England v Wales
Similar dominating football we watch week in week out, we should all know by now it takes a little patience to break down an 11 man defence.
The ones criticizing are doing so for the sake of it, bash your country at every chance instead of supporting, laughable, just turn it off.

The problem with Southgate’s England is they don’t turn it on unless they absolutely have to.

Look at that. Running at pace and we suddenly have a decent chance. Who would’ve thought it.
