France have looked good so far. Still, if you want to win then you need to beat the best.

Great to see Foden back in and playing so well again.
Re: England v Wales
I don't think it will but a little belief never hurt anyone, I'm gonna watch and enjoy England in major tournaments under Gareth, reaching latter stages consistently is something I never thought would happen. Southgate made me fall back in love with the national side again, i'll forever support him for that.box_of_frogs wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 8:34 pmIf it does, I’ll happily proclaim you a football genius for a whole year.

League One? Most of their team is PL or Champ. Drivel.

France have Mbappe, however their defence can be got at with England in this mood.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 8:37 pmNot convinced that France team is that good tbh. Brazil and Spain look like the other two top teams
Clinical display 2nd half after netting the opener.
Defence will face much sterner tests, but going forwards we can cause anyone problems.

Re: England v Wales
Positives have been foden - rashford - and Wilson looks sharp.. still not been really tested at the back.. cant help think its the same england that beats tier c struggles with tier b and loses to tier A.
Re: England v Wales
Ward in goal fir Wales is a calamity! Stepped out of the zone for which he was responsible for the first and through him for the third. No wonder Methusala Hennessy is still number 1.

Wales have been poor most of the tournament baring the 2nd half against USA when they played well.TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 8:44 pmWales going out with an absolute whimper. Really poor from them tonight.
One goal in 3 games, and that was a penalty shows where Wales are lacking presently.

Rashford was probably our poorest player first half but in my opinion its always best to judge players after the match and not during it

Pathetic lack of ambition from them all tournament. Awful in every game.
Yes, they’re crap (compared to us), but that squad is definitely better than Iran and not far off USA on paper. Majority of its first eleven play in the Premier League or have done. Shocking.

Re: England v Wales
95% better in the second half, can't knock them and you can only beat what's in front of you. Wales and Iran in this tournament instead of someone like Italy is nonsense

Re: England v Wales
Eh? He was out through by Kane and should have scored.
He also had a volley which came off the upper part of his shin and a couple of passes/shots that were way off their intended target.
But he stuck at it and things improved second half. It does happen you know!

Spot on. Rice has gone backwards a bit for me, in both senses of the word. Slows us down too.atlantalad wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 8:35 pmRice:- constantly calls for the ball then immediately passes ball 5 metre backwards to defenders
Phillips:- gets/ wins the ball and immediately looks for the forward option.
Really good, professional performance tonight.

If we get past Senegal , and its a big IF.. mbappe and giroud will terrorise maguire and stones, so we will need to win the midfield battle to cut of supply. Given Southgates total lack of adventure a midfield of Henderson rice Bellingham & Phillips would not surprise me

Wilson looks really sharp up front
Re: England v Wales
4 mins added time. 3 goals at least 5 subs, long stop for Joe Allen?

Top notch performance and sailed through the group stages. Squad looks excellent with plenty of options and I reckon if we can not do anything stupid next round it could be a brilliant QF match up between us and either the French or the Germans.
Ive got to say it first Senegal are the worst World Cup team there's ever been so if we manage to beat them thats just Southgate getting lucky with the draw again

Very good performance. Patient first half, destroyed them in the second. Foden surely has to keep his place?

My opinion is that they are desperately below par as a team, nobody stands out as specifically bad.

Out of the hardest group in the tournament unbeaten, 9 goals to the good, 2 clean sheets and no significant injuries. Can't complain can you?

The French have no Pogba or Kante thankfully ( Pogba a different player for his country) , but Senegal will be no walk over .

Yes absolutely, Foden and Rashford need to start every game. Sterling has been off it this season and just doesn’t offer enough anymore consistently in my opinion. Mount a tidy player but again, not creative enough.

Rashford and Foden really laid down a marker why they should start, Henderson as well

You're not the only expert krbfc , i predicted 3-0 on page 1 haha.
Re: England v Wales
Credit where credit is due today as we were much much better and deserved to win by more than 3.
Fair play to Southgate and let’s hope we can kick on against Senegal now.
Kane due a goal or three so hopefully he’s saved them for the knockout games.

Re: England v Wales
England have coasted through the group as expected, however Senegal pose a danger although Mane is a big loss for them they still have guys who on their day can do damage, England at our best should have enough to beat them but it won't be an easy tie by any means.
Positives for me are the amount of players stepping up and bagging goals while Kane is having a slight drought, although he is still providing plenty for the side and assisting others.
2 successive clean sheers can't do the defence any harm, and all the subs are impacting games when called upon, plenty for Gareth to build upon now the KO stages await.
