Christmas decorations, not considered chavy to begin putting them up?

Not sure why it would ever be considered chavy to put decorations up, but I think December 1st is more than reasonable.

Mine wouldn’t go up at all if “chuckles” didn’t do it.

Waste of time, waste of effort, waste of money.

If I’m ever graced with grandkids, maybe I’ll play along, but it’s all a bit unnecessary.

Chavy? Only if you got a deflated inflatable Santa falling off your roof thrashing about in the wind that you haven't taken down since 2017. That's one of my old neighbours... I've moved.

Mine go up in time for 1 Dec and would come down 27th if I had my way. They never make New Year's Eve. Each to their own- unless you're my old neighbours.

Two weeks before Christmas is enough for me. No Christmas music before then.

I think Christmas becomes a sad holiday the older you get, a time for reflection and reminiscing about good memories with now dead family.

With you on that. We lost 4 close family members towards the end of last year and it’s more a feeling of dread than excitement for Christmas this year.

In the Philippines they start their Christmas celebrations on 1st of September and they end on 31st of December. They call those 4 months the Ber months Septem ber Octo ber...

Every year it drives me crazy when the supermarkets are playing only religious songs in September. No Slade with their Here it is merry Christmas.......

More importantly, for anyone wearing a poppy or has one on the front of their car...11 November has gone.

In our village there's half a dozen houses already lit up, with flashing lights appearing very much the fashion this year; I don't mind in general but two of them have got blue bulbed ones. I've had a few near crashes driving through as I've struggled to slow down, drop my phone throw out my joint and put on my seatbelt all at once. I'm getting used to them now, but they still catch me out when I've had a few beers; not very civic minded of the householders if you ask me 😠

Anyone with a surfeit of lights adorning their house should have their energy bill bung from the government revoked immediately!

I want to be a fly on the wall, when the sad attention seekers who have their house lit up like the Las Vegas strip get their leccy bill!
