Fernando Guerro

Post by ClaretCliff » Fri Dec 02, 2022 9:00 am

Just read that the VAR official who adjudicated on the controversial Japan goal last night was Fernando Guerretro.

It couldn’t be, could it??

:) :) :)

This VAR is really something. Contentious to say the least. That decision last night was a shocker.

Dont agree it was a shocker. The ref didn’t think it fully crossed the line and VAR has shown nothing to contradict that, so the goal stands. I’m no fan of VAR and there are some shocking mistakes - but that wasn’t one of them.

Can you hear the sobs Fernando?
I remember long ago another starry night like this
In the floodlights Fernando
You were humming to yourself and softly looking at your VAR
I could hear the distant sobs Fernando!
And sounds of German cries were coming from afar

🤔 OK maybe not 🤣

Where is Klose now Fernando
Every hour Muller seemed to whinge eternally
I was so afraid Fernando
We were kuntz and full of life and none of us prepared to die
And I’m not ashamed to say
The roar of English lions almost made me cry

Why is it a shocker?
The whole of the ball didn’t cross the whole of the line

If you imagine the same instance but between the posts, the goal wouldn’t have stood

Would be interested in how the technology works - the ball has a microchip in it or something ( sure I heard one commentator mention this the other night).
The ref has a device to tell him it's in or out?
Fascinating.
Always wondered how Hursts goal in 66 would have been ruled with current technology.

One thing is for certain, the Lampard goal against them in 2010 would have been given, of that there is no doubt.

As the most fouled player in the Premier League, he'd make a good official as he'd know what to look out for :D
