Where’s the unprovoked violence…! I’m missing the chairs being thrown and England fans being blamed for everything…!

;)

On a serious note, I think we could learn a little about fan behaviour. Is it just a coincidence that the absence of alcohol at games means zero trouble?
England's following is like Dad's Army this time. Younger people just can't afford it. All the "lads" will be saving themselves for the Euros in Germany in 18 months time.

The key is not to forget how it ended up being there, what the regime did to build the stadiums and why they did it

Like most WC’s it’s been good fun with some cracking games , upsets etc . Gotta say I’ve been impressed by the reffing ( not often you can say that ) and looks to be run very smoothly . Sure ,atmosphere a bit sterile but it’s hardly “ football country “

The refereeing has been really good, only been a couple of iffy penalties and they have been really cautious with the yellow and red cards, and the players have responded really positively to that

It was muchacho/Factual Frank’s latest incarnation. And yes, he does need professional help.

Anyway, all sorted, well done mods.

World Cup has been ok but is missing something in terms of atmosphere and general vibe. Which was always going to be the case when you plonk the WC here, but it’s enjoyable all the same.

No. What you do is educate people. If somebody kicks up a fuss, you educate those people who are complaining.

If you fix those people, you fix the rest.

England’s attacking play is among the best at the tournament.
Penalty shoot outs will now start to decide which teams get to the Final and will be another big obstacle for England to overcome.
Generally I’m enjoying the tournament more than reading posts from the clique that is spoiling this message board

Things to look out for in a new user’s first few posts;

1.) Passive aggressive behaviour
2.) Declaring a hatred for Leeds United
3.) Unsolicited personal abuse
4.) Declarations that poster x is a ‘good poster’
5.) An extremely misplaced obsession with intelligence

It’s been a great World Cup. I’ve enjoyed the World Cup being in Qatar, the time of the matches is great. The positives of the culture has been great to see as well.

I’ve loved the under dogs winning. I expect Morocco to beat Spain tomorrow if I’m honest.

It’s probably been the most enjoyable World Cup for England in my lifetime as well.

That always reminds me of the old one ...

Hubby pausing whilst making love to his wife
"Why do you lie there like a wet fish ..."

Wife "What do you want from me then..."

Husband "well you could move around and moan a bit..."

Wife ...a few minutes later ... wriggled her hips "I wish you'd paint this bloody ceiling"

I think Spain have been really poor so far. Only managed to beat a poor Costa Rica.

Morocco look a really strong team. Think they could potentially be the team we play in the semi final if we beat France.

The one big downside is I think FIFA will see this break in the domestic football calendar as a positive and it'll be used to break up the season on a regular basis to fit in a few mini tournaments.

Brazil should be awarded the SCD crown after last night's moves. That's what the World Cup should encompass and it's great to see players enjoying their footy.
