Some trivia about Alan Ball. He was only 21 when he won the World Cup, and along with Peters and Hurst still had not reached double figures in terms of England Caps before the Final.

He was still a Blackpool player at the time and was the last Blackpool player to be capped for England.

I had forgotten how prolific a goal scorer he was for a midfield player. 40 for Blackpool, 66 for Everton and 45 for Arsenal all in the top flight.
