Burnley FC Women

Trawling through the footie fixtures for the weekend I note that on Sunday BFC Women are due to take on Norwich City in the Womens FA Cup.

The Sky website give the venue as Broadhurst Park which I understand is the home of FC United of Manchester. There is nothing on the BFC Web site about the fixture or Burnley FC Women’s Twitter account.

A bit of a mystery so what’s going on?

Anyone up to speed with BFC Womens team? I know they won through to the last eight of the league cup and I found out that after 10 games they are unbeaten in the league and in third place.

However they seem to be operating pretty much under the radar.

They are in the third tier, but promotion is the top from NNL against top from SNL.
Wolves won our division last season, but I presume they lost the play off as they are still in our league.
I believe, but not sure, that there are strings attached to promotion also, such as ground and backroom etc.

If it wasn't for conceding late equalisers at home, against the lesser teams, they'd be cruising at the top. Much like last season, they appear to be getting stronger as the season goes on.

My post wasn't a criticism of the fact they are in the 3rd tier but a joke about the spelling of Third in the article in the pinkun that Ashington posted ... as in thrid ... and Thrisk on the sign in York 😉

The game in the end was postponed, presumably due to the weather.
