Surely it's an option to buy. Pointless having a loan if you're obligated to buy. Might as well just buy him in the first place.
Andy Jones has stated on twitter that obligation to buy means that Burnley must buy.

Everyone has reported its an obligation to buy.

It’s likely because perhaps 1. We spent more than we thought we would on Foster and don’t have the cash flow or 2. We still have another target in mind we need the cash for.
Sounds about right, and probably pay at bit more for him in the summer. But couldn’t we have just structured a permanent deal on the same terms , just seems semantics to me ?

There was a deal recently that was obligated to buy (Chris Wood maybe) and I think the difference is that there used to be an option to buy at an agreed price, but now there's this obligated to buy based on conditions being met (eg, Obligated to buy if promoted to the premier league, and he plays 10 games, or scores 5 goals - type of deal). I think that's the difference.

I agree on all the Twine comments, but didn't VK say at some point he could also play as a false 9?

With Brownhill being locked in, this may have been his best opportunity for a start?

Personally would like to see him given a go in Brownhills position (eg JBG against Coventry)

Obafemi will cost us less than Dale Stephens if you also factor the latter's wages for two years. Do I need to say more

Just as something a little different to discuss, with yesterday and today's incoming making 4 new faces, LM going on loan and others having left earlier, does anyone actually know how we stand with actual squad numbers for the remainder of the season, plus allow for one more incoming CM (maybe)

I'm totally confused having lost how we stand now, we can also potentially add Ash going on loan freeing up another place. A list of the new squad and places would be very helpful to the likes of me.

How do you think relegated prem clubs, with players on mega bucks and club infrastructure to match, are going to sustain a season in the no money Championship?
What do you understand as a parachute payment?
If you dropped out of a plane, would you wait until your next flight, before pulling the cord?

Trust me on this one this lad will do well for us , mad pace and strong as well holds up the ball well .

Do not make your mind up after coming on a couple of times as a sub but give him a month to get up to speed remember he has not played much football in the last few months .

Don't think it's fair for any scout to consider a player is not good enough after less than 90 mins evidence. I'm sure we have watched Foster more than VK and CB being in Belgium last week.
Remember reading somewhere sabout a scouting mission on Vardy whilst at Fleetwood and he had a shocker.

Obafemi at £3m has to be snapped up surely, if there's ever a risk free deal that is it.

https://twitter.com/canselkemiksiz/stat ... Zyy2KL5MdQ . Yeah apparently they’ve now given up and galatasaray aren’t interested right now and Burnley haven’t made a new bid yet the player wants to leave so Burnley might be his option if we are willing to pay what they want for him which atm looks doubtful

It's a shame that such an important thread is completely overshadowed by petty point scoring. Usual culprits have complete dominance to be as disruptive as possible to the detriment of sincere genuine posters who's only interest is in transfer activity & rumours.

Just seen this. A full list of championship OOCs for June and I wouldn’t want any of them. Our expectations have been raised.
I see BBD has signed a pre-contract with Villareal. That’s £15m the chicken farmers won’t be getting.
Wigan have so many OOC it’s no wonder they can’t get a tune out of them.

Article in the Mail this morning suggesting the Obafemi deal is an option to buy, not obligation.

Expect the deal will get announced today, so hopefully it will be cleared up. I'd be infinitely more comfortable with this deal if it's an option - or even an obligation based on games played/goals scored.
