England v Burnley
Would you sacrifice a Burnley win for an England win? Don’t think I would. Maybe I could handle a Burnley draw and an England win…

Re: England v Burnley
Would depend what was at stake in part, if it was to win a world cup final versus a meaningless end of season midtable encounter then I'd choose England. If it was to win the league I might look at it differently
Re: England v Burnley
3-0 win for England tonight or 3-0 win for Burnley tomorrow?
Close call but I go for the latter.

Not even close.
Burnley to beat QPR or England to win today?
Burnley every time. Burnley is the only football I watch these days. It’s the only football I have any interest in.
I just started to write a lecture as to why…. But I deleted it all, because everyone already knows what’s wrong with the game. I tolerate football these days because of my love for Burnley.

Re: England v Burnley
Burnley win before an England win anytime, of course I'll happily take both to boost my hopes in the prediction comps.
But if only one is an option 3 pts at QPR please ahead of England winning tonight.

Burnley every single time.
Burnley brings us joy every single week, something to look forward to and is a huge part of everyday life.
It's imperative we go up this season imo to secure the short term future and give us the best chance of implementing the business model and hopefully long term survival as the top 25 teams in the country.

I've got a tenner on a France QPR double at 8-1. Just some insurance if the worst was to happen. Burnley are more important, but this week won't define their competition. For that reason, England can have my vote. Win today, and they could actually win the thing, nothing to fear from yesterday's games.

Re: England v Burnley
For me I think my meh attitude towards England these days is more do with our spell in the PL than anything
My first season as claret was 1988 and so England players were heroes of the first division / PL in the 90s and 00s that I got to watch on Sky and MOTD with no prejudice
Once the individuals became rivals in the Dyche era I wanted the likes of Kane / Sterling et al to fail every week and so I don’t have the same connection any more

Re: England v Burnley
I would choose an England win over a Burnley win this weekend. Burnley have got 8 games coming up in the next 4 weeks, and ultimately I feel we will be promoted comfortably. England have a 4 year wait until the next World Cup and a long way to go to get to the QF stage.
Generally I get much more pleasure from watching Burnley, but I would love to see England win a World Cup and we’re at the business end.

Re: England v Burnley
Burnley for me, no question.
Little interest in England. I think much of it stems from when we had best team in country and some great players yet they only got a handful of England caps between them and some such as Brian O’Neil and even Jimmy Adamson, who was Footballer of the Year didn’t get a single cap.another example is Ray Pointer - score 2 in 3 games then never selected again.
Might seem a bit irrational to some but that’s the way I feel.

I'm with the majority of posters on this subject- easily Burnley above England for the win.
If England lose then I'm a bit disappointed, if Burnley lose I'm well p***ed off.

No
But I will sacrifice a burnley league defeat at Newcastle or man City away next year in exchange for a Croatia v Morocco final.

I’d rather see Burnley in an FA Cup final over England winning the World Cup
Re: England v Burnley
Although it’s entirely hypothetical, there’s no chance I would sacrifice Burnley losing points for England’s gain.
I’d be delighted if England win the World Cup but I don’t feel anywhere near the same connection with the national side.
