Absolutely woeful this French side, Southgate cost us big time.

Re: Morocco v France
France an odd team. Not watched them once this tournament and been impressed. Seem to ride their luck and then deliver the sucker punch time and time again. Lucky deflection there for the goal as an example. But having said all that, obviously a very good team to be getting to two World Cup finals.
Re: Morocco v France
Wouldn't say they were woeful but definately beatable if you can take the game to them as Morocco have managed to do.

A proper manager and we’d have cruised past France.

France have ridden their luck tonight and against England. All the bounces have gone their way. Both goals tonight perfect examples.

His time is nigh.claretburns wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 5:41 pmOver an hour to go before the 2nd semi final between Morocco and France, the winners face Argentina in the final on Sunday, the losers play the pathetic and no need 3rd place play off against Croatia.
Surely we're all Morocco fans tonight?
89th min and France leading 2-0, Zaroury comes on and scores a 5 minute hat trick to send Morocco through? We can hope!
Re: Morocco v France
No, it was Kane missed the penalty this time. Think you’re getting confused with ‘96.Granny WeatherWax wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 8:40 pmAbsolutely woeful this French side, Southgate cost us big time.

Re: Morocco v France
Morocco are like many up and coming sides, playing lovely football up to the penalty box, but not clinical at the vital moment.
France, on the other hand, ARE clinical, and that's why they'll be playing Argentina on Sunday.

Re: Morocco v France
Do they play a 3rd place play off ?...If not, if Zaroury can get the 1st flight back I can pick him up from the airport, he can be fresh & in the team for Saturday

Zaroury will be playing for Morocco on Saturday.
Be surprised if we see him before Jan

Ndiaye played for Sheff Utd on the weekend after playing for Senegal the previous Sunday (and was man of the match).Granny WeatherWax wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 8:46 pmZaroury will be playing for Morocco on Saturday.

I’d be surprised if Zaroury wasn’t in the squad for us against Birmingham.

A World Cup final that's the equivalent of Leeds v Rovers ,where you want them both to lose. Just my opinion.

Re: Morocco v France
I wouldn’t be surprised if Kompany gives him a week off. Roberts didn’t make the bench at weekend.
Re: Morocco v France
Proper poxy final.
Re: Morocco v France
Like to think the squad players will get some game time then in the play off.Granny WeatherWax wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 8:46 pmZaroury will be playing for Morocco on Saturday.

Who would have dropped off the bench for Roberts, anyway?Granny WeatherWax wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 8:50 pmI wouldn’t be surprised if Kompany gives him a week off. Roberts didn’t make the bench at weekend.
Yes I read he will be offered a week off but it will be up to the player. After he’s not played for 4 weeks he strikes me as someone who’ll be desperate to get playing again. Suppose we’ll see.

I guess it’s the mental break they need, but I sort of agree with you
Re: Morocco v France
And mine, but it's already been sorted who wins. Argies lift the Cup, Messi notches from the spot on his final appearance.AmbleClaret wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 8:49 pmA World Cup final that's the equivalent of Leeds v Rovers ,where you want them both to lose. Just my opinion.

Re: Morocco v France
Fortunately, due to the quality of our squad we can cope without him. What an experience this must be for him, surely nobody will be complaining that he misses a couple more games for us as a result.Granny WeatherWax wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 8:46 pmZaroury will be playing for Morocco on Saturday.

Re: Morocco v France
For me - Argentina to give Messi a send off he deserves… and I can’t stand the French
Re: Morocco v France
No definitely no complaints. Purely discussing when he might be back.TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 8:59 pmFortunately, due to the quality of our squad we can cope without him. Delighted with the final pairing. Great to see the 2 best teams in the final. I think it will be Argentina 2 France 1 on Sunday.

Exactly this. Against England, France had more when and where it mattered. Same story against Morocco tonight.lakedistrictclaret wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 8:43 pmMorocco are like many up and coming sides, playing lovely football up to the penalty box, but not clinical at the vital moment.

FWIW I fully expect Zaroury to make his debut for Morocco on Saturday.
If he doesn't, then he should refuse to ever be selected again!
