Accy Clarets to Luton - Sat 18th Feb ko 3pm

Post by Leisure » Thu Jan 05, 2023 8:03 pm

We are starting get requests for seats for this game. However, as the Club will only receive just over 1000 tickets (which go on sale on 23rd January), we are not taking any bookings until this date and will then only be taking bookings from people who have managed to purchase a match ticket. Hopefully this will avoid the situation of lots of people booking on and then needing to cancel after not managing to get a ticket.

Would be an idea to start the loyalty points at 8 thousand for this one I think.

Looking forward to the whinging about this one, but it defo should start above 6000 points given scarcity of tickets vs demand this season.

Not right increasing it mid season, also these on 4k points and lower will never catch up to the max amount because its increases are bigger than what most people gain points in a season

Apart from Huddersfield and Luton every game so far will have got to general sale I think? Rewarding those with the most points is fairer than just a mad scramble/fastest finger first.

It isn't right increasing the points max amount mid season, and its hardley fair for some fan's has they will never get to the top points needed if it keeps increasing higher than the points you can earn in a season

It is a game that the club if they could ensure that any ticket sold is used by the correct points holder rather than those who fancy a ground tick or just want to take a mate but have nowhere near enough points getting one. Sadly it is pretty much unworkable

That’s a whole other, fundamental, point about how the loyalty system works. It could be much fairer if it was changed to say a rolling 2 year loyalty point scheme which reward season ticket holders that go to away games

I don't think there is any hard and fast rule about the loyalty points being set at any particular level.
Sales have generally started at the 6,000 points mark for the last few seasons so it's not as though the club change this each season.

For the recent Man Utd game loyalty points weren't even used for the ticket sale process.

The idea of loyalty points is to enable those fans who have attended most games to have first option on away ticket sales. It would seem quite reasonable if the club set the points total at a higher level for the Luton game.

I do understand what you are saying about other fans not being able to climb up the points ladder if they can't get tickets for certain away games, but this Luton game would be a "one off" because of our low allocation.
Its only 10 points per away game so very little would be lost in that respect.

I'm sure it would be better if the club ran it slightly differently with a rolling points system, maybe over a 2, 3 or 4 years length of time.
Some Premier League clubs do this, also the FA use this rolling system over 2 year periods for selling England away tickets to members.

Having said all that, this discussion has been done to death on here before, but the club seem unwilling to change anything.

the loyalty point system is rubbish imo… how can you get rewarded only 10 points for travelling down south opposed to a local game?

This old chestnut only turns up when it's limited tickets, the loyalty system didn't get mentioned for Swansea or Norwich games. Club can't please everybody, same people every time.

Nah. Why should someone who lives down south get 40 points more than someone who lives up north.

I’ve got more than enough points, so up them to 10000 for all I care etc. The system is defo unfair for the future generation and could do with a revamp.

The problem with points is it is all from a point in time. Doesn’t matter one iota that you did most grounds in 3rd or 4th division before points came along or had season ticket for 16/17 years either its all about since it went digital. Then you borrow a ticket with plenty of points for hard to get games and fall even further behind!! Something like rewarding regular away day goers over 2/3 year period or sell away season tickets

We will be accepting bookings from 10am on Monday but only from people who have secured a match ticket, so please don't ask for seats until you have purchased a ticket -

Nelson Interchange 6.30am, Turf Moor 6.45am and Eastgate, Accrington (next to Home Bargains) 7am.

Adults £35/ Under 16's (who must be accompanied by an adult) £30. Coach fare will be collected on the coach on the day.

To book, leave your surname, how many seats you want (stating how many are adults and how many are U16) and where you want to get on.

If your request for seats gets a 'Like' from me, that indicates that you've been booked on.

Coach allocations will be posted on here a few days before the game.

PLEASE NOTE - ONCE BOOKED ON, IF YOU NEED TO CANCEL OR REDUCE YOUR BOOKING PLEASE NOTIFY US IN ADVANCE. ALL SEATS BOOKED MUST BE PAID FOR AND ANYONE NOT TURNING UP WILL BE BANNED FROM FUTURE TRAVEL WITH US.
