Hi all

Anyone else having issues with this service? All sort of delays and buffering and problems in what can be watched?

I have Netflix, Amazon prime, paramount + and others but I never have a problem with these! My internet service is quite good, it’s sky fibre and is a good speed.

Shall o put it down to teething issues (been rolled oit before it was ready) or something else? It’s annoying when you’ve got stuck into a series and it freezes up.

Nowt wrong with ours (yet) been watching a couple of UFO episodes on it ...

I have these problems to - I watch via my firestick and use the app - never updated it from itv hub - so that may be the root of the issue for me

though I have to say I have had issues with other apps on the firestick, particularly iplayer, not to the same level of itvX -

I sometimes wonder if perhaps amazon have gone down the route of apple in forcing you to upgrade the technology

Cuts out sometimes in the middle of programmes playback.

Bring back ITV hub.

Yep, given up bothering trying after a few fails. Streaming live (via firestick) when there is high demand is still rubbish as well, which is a problem when you don't have an aerial/sat dish during football tournaments for example. ITV shouldn't be allowed the rights until they sort it. Every other platform seems to manage the capacity - although I keep saying I should check if it works better direct from smart tv app/playstation compared with firestick but I'm too lazy to set it up.

I tried to watch MOTD on iplayer app on fire stick last night and had to give up. It was just constantly buffering. Didn’t realise it was a bit of a common theme.

Apologies for my ignorance but how do you get ITV X . Er indoors has been asking me as she’s seen programmes advertised that looked good. We have the basic sky package but no extra channels like netflix etc. Thanks in advance.

I used it on my internet browser, and every time the programme came to an ad break, the show restarted.

Used to have that on ITV hub but (touchwood) since ITVX its stopped ... The wife reckons ITV are doing it on purpose to get people to sign up for Ad free at £3.99 a month

ITV/STV are the worst streaming platforms that I've ever used, constantly buffering or dropping out altogether.

Pity as both have some decent programmes, but it doesn't matter what they've got if you can't bleeding watch it.

Never had any issues with All4 or the IP, so it isn't my pc just the ITV/STV apps being so rubbish.

Beware if you are considering signing up for Ad free version because apparently you may still get ads on some of the shows, especially any American content.

No way would we sign up for an ad free version Sod em I can switch the sound off and ignore em

I believe it’s just itv.com beddie.

Their as campaign has been as poor as their player but it’s functionable.

I can't get it. I use Sky and it's not currently available.

Not even on a laptop?

For some odd reason it seems to work better if i cast to tv from my phone app, than it does using it straight from TV where its pre loaded.
First used it during the World Cup.
But rarely bother with either ways if watching, not being the biggest TV fan.

Just watched the first ep of Nolly, signed in on my Sony tv. No problems. Made a brew during one ad break.

If you have a laptop you can just google "ITVX" and log on there and watch. If you have a SMART TV it may appear as an app, like the BBC iPlayer does. I think this will be the case on most SMART TVs. I have a 7-years old Panasonic TV though and, unfortunately, have been told that ITVX is not yet available on the model of TV I have. Annoying as the old ITVhub app used to be available no problem.

I tried mirroring from my IPad but as soon as I started to play a programme, a message advised that this app does not support mirroring

Can’t get it on SkyQ yet but I can get it on my LG smart tv.

However, tried watching that Spy drama with Guy Pierce and it forced us to sit through loads of adverts, no ability to fast forward them. Think you can pay to avoid that.

So I gave up. I haven’t watched adverts for 15 years, it would drive me potty now,

We lost ITV X on our Samsung Smart TV (ITV hub used to be on it but stopped after the switch over) but that TV went pop about 4 weeks ago and we got a new Samsung TV and its on that ...

It’s absolute garbage, I lasted 13 minutes on it. Advertised as the freshest new streaming service, its itv hub rebranded.

All the best programs are other subscription based platforms, when ITV get a program they advertise it as being a hit series before it’s televised and again afterwards, in reality they are scraping the bottom of the barrel.

No problems yet so far as I know. Watch it on the TV app and it seems okay. The good news is at last I have rid us of Sky. Called em today knowing my contract was up in a few days. Now end 8th March with the months notice. Great product but sh!t company and massively over priced. Cue constant calls texts and e-mails from them offering amazing deals. Enough alternatives to not need it.

Got rid of Sky (well Virgin Media actually) a few years ago, and I genuinely haven't missed it, plenty of Freeview channels or free streaming services to service my needs, how much telly can anyone actually watch in the course of a day anyway?

I can see others following suit and making savings where they can due to the cost of living crisis, it is amazing the money I have managed to put aside by cutting out the unnecessary luxuries pay-tv being one of them.

I think it’s not really needed any more. We’ve been paying £65pm and until I called today I didn’t know it was going up to £70pm. We’ll have to start paying for Netflix again but we always did before Sky got hold of it. The added bonus is knowing we are no longer financially supporting the bloody PL.
