Accy Stanley v Leeds

Post by ElectroClaret » Sat Jan 28, 2023 10:43 am

What a day for Accrington. £350,000 from the tie and on telly as well. Gonna be hectic in the Crown and around the ground.
But can they overcome Weeds?

Accy pubs will be making a killing with the 25,000 Leeds fans that will be turing up without tickets!

Big soft spot for Stanley here. Hoping for a last minute equaliser for Accy, today to give them a big financial boost of an Elland Road replay where they tonk ",the biggest club in the world".

Shame it's not on the tele. It might have been if Accrington drew a big club.

Why do they wrongly mention that they were founder members of the football league when that original team went bust a few seasons after the initial football league was founded?

Walsall v Leicester also available on red button at 12:30.

Two potential banana skins for Premier League sides, 10 Premier League teams out already and that will be 11 in this round due to Brighton v Liverpool.

And aren't they now on version number three with the second club going bust in the sixties with all the talk about Bob Lord not willing to help save them?

not even that.

accrington fc and stanley villa (as they were originally known) have no affiliation whatsoever apart both entities being from accy.

A part of me wants Accy to win. Another wants us to beat Ipswich and play Leeds at Elland Road in the next round. I think we would be a massive test for them.

No, easiest tie (whoever that is) at home please. We have a chance to go a long way and if the top teams keep drawing each other we might win it. Why not?

I can see both sides so you make a good point. I fancy Leeds to go down this season so would be nice to give a defeating send off.

Accy giving a decent account of themselves, just lacking that killer touch in front of goal.

Leicester miss a pen at Walsall could be one of those days for them.

Accy deserve a goal for their efforts, and yet again Leeds fail to keep a clean sheet.

Fingers crossed for Al-Dakhil, new team, new system. I hope he hits the ground running. We need a match ready back up with THB out.
Would live to see Twine show enough for a regular starting spot, his cameos have looked so promising.

Come on you Clarets
It's not a new system. Same system we always play.

Listened to Andy Holt before the game, he grew up a Leeds fan as his Dad was a fanatic.

He booked a holiday to Butlins Filey instead of Blackpool knowing the Leeds team were staying there - 'Oh look love, that's a surprise' :D
