Well, our first 0-0 of the season. Pretty poor game in truth, helped by a woeful pitch which meant neither team could play any kind of football on the deck.

Could have been worse I suppose, clean sheet is welcome as is the newbies getting some minutes.

Fancy us to win the replay.

Ipswich played well, gave a good account of themselves.

Hopefully will be a different story in the replay

Not good enough today. I guess it’s job done with a weakened team. Take the draw and move on

Their manager used his subs well , put fresh legs on as and when required, in addition their press was excellent. Cant complain on result, it felt like that was Ipswich at top of their game and us at about 70%. Hardly surprising as so many changes in starting side. Thought the new lad at centre half did ok, but not necessarily a huge upgrade on McNally from what i saw. Foster will get better as he learns the ropes and runs. Beyer was excellent, and to be fair so was BPF

We've got a bunch of new players to give game time to - it's a great result from that perspective

We started the second really well but the subs didn't make a real difference although Zaroury had a fine shot saved.

All I all a decent enough tie - they finished quite strong but in the end other than scrambling out two crosses that were mis hit our keeper hasn't made a save all match.

We ought to turn them over at home

That pitch killed the game before it even started.

I know it was frustrating but for me it shows progress. How many cup games like that have we played in recent years and been beaten ??

I know people will be disappointed but a replay is not the worst outcome IMO. We didn’t keep the ball well which was disappointing and clearly let us down today but fair play to Ipswich because they ran their socks off ALL game, without troubling us at all really.
Let’s also not forget that as much as I would love to see us carry on in the FA cup, the league is the priority, but I think we will win the replay at home.
A huge positive for me was that two of our new signings got minutes and Al-Dakhil looked really good. A replay at home also gives our new players more time to play which can only be a good thing.
Onwards and upwards - still a great season so far

It's a shock result, but we can beat them. They will be happy with a day out.

A few thoughts.
For all the Muric lovers who were slagging BPF distribution. He was excellent as usual. Never been anything wrong with that side of his game.
The debate about Bastien. He does very little wrong but he does very little. For a midfielder the most invisible player I’ve seen.
The worst player on the pitch today was Vitinho, barely worth a 4.
Al-Dakhil was much better second half but I’d expect Ekdahl to be ahead of him very shortly.
I was disappointed that they won every 50/50 in the last 10 minutes. They just wanted it more.

Replay = Another chance to see us at home, who wouldn't want that this season, and chances are be a night match which are always much better

Replays are never ideal, but the depth of our squad and the extent of our lead in the league means that on this occasion, it would be far less of a problem for us than usual. Suspect Ipswich would be less than happy, though, given their league position.
You're on the wrong thread.......this is the complain about Charlie Taylor thread.

I think Bastien is too slow. He doesn't pick up the ball and release it quick enough.

By our standards of the last few months, that was cr4p. Dissapointed with that.
Vits was really poor, I thought we had Darikwa at right back again.
Another clean sheet is one of the few positives, the chance to make amends in a replay is another.
The path to perfection is never a smooth one, so we'll just have to put it down to a bad day in the office.

Yep this was always going to be tricky today, and Ipswich have probably lost their best chance of winning the tie.

Replay is preferable to another meek exit to a lower league side, and at home we should see these off handily.

Other posters such as ClaretSpice will do what they always do and rephrase what I've just put, but basically, it's a fantastic opportunity to give other players a chance.

Happy with a replay it was always going to be tricky with a cup tie at Portman Road.

A fair result today. We'll batter them at Turf hopefully.

We couldn't seem to find any rhythm in the first half. Second looked better but Ipswich kept it up until the final whistle, where we've normally seen teams get pinned back after 60 or 70 mins. Credit to them.

Ipswich played really well. Very organised and obviously up for the match against supposedly better opponents.
Couldn't understand all the changes today when introducing new players.
I would have thought the best way to introduce a new player would be into an established line up. We more or less introduced 3 new ones from the start.
Also a bit puzzled with the subs. Churlinov was playing well.
Thought Barnes would have been worth a shout because pace upfront wasn't an issue with the type of game on show.
