Agreed-gives us both aggression and calmness. Thought it was a great debut during a difficult game. His aerial ability will be a big plus for us too

Really like the look of him. Extremely composed and used the ball better than most of our team today.

Lyle looks like he’ll be an handful ,big doubts about Churnilov,& Bastien though.

Yep he looked very good, not sure on one viewing he’s a massive upgrade on McNally. Beyer is critical and needs tying down

I thought Churlinov did pretty well today. Was involved in 2 of our brighter moments.

Al-Dakhil was impressive right enough.

Churlinov did well in the tight spaces , and I do think he will turn out to be a good player for us.

Bastien shows glimpses and then often takes too long on the ball, but that may come with time in English football.

Worth noting that Bastien and Churlinov , Churlinov more so, have barely featured and need game time.

Strange comment given today’s evidence. Foster had maybe half a dozen touches, nothing really to say whether he’ll be good, bad or indifferent. On the other hand Churlinov showed plenty to prove his value to the team, and Bastien was okay considering the pitch and overall display of the team.
We were actually starting to get more into the game when the 3 substitutions were made and got worse afterwards.

exactly this, not many foreign lads hit the ground running especially with so little game time

Al Dakhil was promising. His performance improved when Cullen came on as he was struggling for options in the first half at times.

I’m not sold on Bastien in midfield - did well early season when called upon.

Churlinov has got an interesting skill set and is still very young - it’s a shame he got a knock early in the season when he did.

Definitely deserves to start after today-Charlie had a couple of good blocks and tackles today but is looking more and more restricted to the way this team plays and can see why VK prefers Maatsen at LB. Looking very ponderous with the ball

Churlinov isn't tricky enough. I can tell that from a mile off.
Bastien is too slow. Receive, look up, pass, it's too slow.

Sorry, but neither are going to make it in the Prem.

I agree on Bastien, I thought the same myself - be fine as 4th/5th choice

Churlinov is dead direct and fair physical, looked good away at West Brom before his injury

Churlinov needs a benson style moment where he scores a goal out of nothing and kick starts his career

Kick start is maybe a bit strong given his age and how long he was injured after joining a new club in a new country. Patience , some take longer than others. This lad will create his fair share of goals for us.

Churlinov looked to be getting into gear before his injury and was very unfortunate not to score at West Brom.

His start at Stoke was very poor though and I’ve heard mixed reports on him today. Not entirely sure what to make of him but I’m happy not to write him off yet - not for any league.

Pleased to read positive reviews on Al Dakhil.

Decent enough debut against average but lively opposition . Taylor’s no CB so presume he’ll slot in asap . THB a big miss but this lad will hopefully step up and become an important part .
Darko and Bastien are decent enough cover players ,though thus far Bastien doesn’t look owt special and DC needs more time .

I think if Rodriguez had scored either of those chances that Churlinov laid on for him hChurlinov would have been viewed much more favourably.

Thought Al-Dakhil was decent today. Solid debut.

Out of the lot today, I was most disappointed with Twine. With Bastien not far behind.

Twine was very lightweight. Goodness knows how he’s going to step up next year in the PL.

Bastien far too slow on the ball and repeatedly took an age to release Vitinho, which would allow a defender to get across.

But in their defence, they need lots more game time.

The team didn't play well yesterday, understandable given the game time of some of the players, and the state of the pitch, but apparently it was all down to Bastien and Taylor. What do I know

Hard to judge anybody on that pitch, and it will always be difficult for our fringe players when they aren't playing regularly.

Al-Dakhil seemingly looked decent on his debut, Foster only got 20 minutes or so, not easy to assess him on that.

Well a few other fringe players understandably looked slightly off the pace, Churlinov though could and arguably should have had at least one assist.

The minutes that Churlinov, Twine and Vitinho got will be helpful, and they and a few others will likely start in the replay possibly Obafemi as well.

One or two knobs writing off Bastien already...just as the likes of Marney and Brownhill were dismissed in their early appearances.

IMO Bastien will be a solid member of the team once he's up to speed.

Al Dakhil defended really well, thought he was a tad disappointing on the ball, him and Taylor just kept trying to boot it down the line instead of playing on the ground. I had flashbacks to Dyche as boss and Mee wellying it from a fullback position. The pitch was a cabbage patch though, I'll accept that excuse as fair.

Bastien is fine in his current role because he doesn't play much, i'm not even sure what his best role in the team is. He doesn't seem to really excell at anything? is he a ball winner? dribbler? arrive late in the box? energetic box to box? deep controller of the game?

Churlinov has shown glimpses, thought he looked good at WBA and Wigan. He's barely kicked a football all season since, hasn't had a run in the side either. I was surprised to see him go off Yesterday, I thought he looked a threat, certainly a bigger threat than Tella.

But why is my head scratcher. He loved charging down the line under SD. He never gets forward now. Is he under instruction? He does flit between LB and 3rdCB btw.
I noticed that nearly every one of our corners went beyond the far post with only Charlie in that vicinity. It didn’t work once, so there’s one for the bin.

I thought "Terry"(Dakhil) had a great game for his first start. Made one Tarkowski style tackle and generally looked very solid.
Churlinov shows little glimpses of his talent. He really needs to dominate in one of these games. More game time will benefit him greatly. Bastien is a solid back up who doesn't let anyone down, however he doesn't look like he'll be a premier quality player. It's a shame because he's a great lad.
