Cash flow..
Re: Obafemi
I've just read that we've just signed him on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season
Re: Obafemi
Just had a similar convo on our Whatsapp group about his attitude ... They had forgotten Tarky and Taylor did the same at Brentford and Leeds respectively ... When I pointed that out they all went "Ohhh yeah"123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sun Jan 29, 2023 10:52 amTaylor and tarky did the exact same and they turned out well

Re: Obafemi
We seem to be doing everything we were lacking before: being smart and proactive on the transfer market.
We’ve reassembled a complete new squad over the summer and have now considerably improved it.

Re: Obafemi
Seems like he was probably advised by his agent in the summer was closer than it actually was, it’s obviously going to play on someone’s mind, I think it’s a really good bit of business and relieves pressure on foster to hit the ground runningBosscat wrote: ↑Sun Jan 29, 2023 2:11 pmJust had a similar convo on our Whatsapp group about his attitude ... Worst video so far, but that's probably because I can't be doing with James Corden.Goalposts wrote: ↑Sun Jan 29, 2023 10:56 amBoom as they say

Re: Obafemi
Let’s hope he doesn’t flounce out like a scorned tart like he has at his last 2 clubs . No doubt he’s a talent ,let’s hope he hits the ground running .
Re: Obafemi
Tarkowski spat his dummy out and refused to play, according to the Swansea manager Obafemi has a good attitude and never refused to play, he's just not been at the same level due to our interest in the summer.Bosscat wrote: ↑Sun Jan 29, 2023 2:11 pmJust had a similar convo on our Whatsapp group about his attitude ... Re: Obafemi
Just been reading some comments from Southampton fans who have no clue about any attitude problem with them. They said he always gave 100% every game and seemed a ‘cheerful soul’.AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Sun Jan 29, 2023 2:57 pmLet’s hope he doesn’t flounce out like a scorned tart like he has at his last 2 clubs . Re: Obafemi
Doubt VK would have bothered if it was a serious issue . Some players do sulk a bit , it’s just football . He’s no doubt been brought in as a “ starter “ so let’s hope he proves a good asset as we’d got a real centre forward black hole forming .
Re: Obafemi
Look at Joey Barton. Never a problem with Dyche and I expect the same with this lad.AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Sun Jan 29, 2023 3:06 pmDoubt VK would have bothered if it was a serious issue . Re: Obafemi
Swansea forum saying Martin had fallen out with half the first team squad at one time or other and fell out with a few at MK Dons. MO could obviously have conducted himself better but I think there was a lot more to it.
You’d imagine Tella and Cullen would’ve been sounded out and put in good words too.

Swansea manager said only last week that he still had a really good relationship with him but, in any case, Tella and Cullen will definitely have had some input.Swizzlestick wrote: ↑Sun Jan 29, 2023 3:16 pmSwansea forum saying Martin had fallen out with half the first team squad at one time or other and fell out with a few at MK Dons. Re: ARTICLE: Obafemi in loan move from Swansea
The complete deletion of Swansea related posts a few weeks back would suggest something happened, perhaps with the upper hierarchy, but I do think this bad egg he’s being portrayed as in some quarters is highly unfair and I’m massively looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the team.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Jan 29, 2023 3:22 pmSwansea manager said only last week that he still had a really good relationship with him but, in any case, Tella and Cullen will definitely have had some input.

Not surprised in the slightest. Barnes is at the end, and going off performances so far, after a quite good start Jay isn’t far behind him.
Give it a month and foster and obafemi will be the starting pair up top when VK opts for a two.
Welcome lad, get amongst ‘em.

when we’re clearly in the market for forwards that will ultimately replace you, it’s not surprising that Jay’s effectiveness has dropped - it’s quite the milestone realizationbobinho wrote: ↑Sun Jan 29, 2023 3:29 pmNot surprised in the slightest. Re: ARTICLE: Obafemi in loan move from Swansea
To be honest, I’d be looking for a different reaction. Why not give VK a reason to stop looking?
Anyway, I reckon it’s all irrelevant really. VK will have already worked out what he wants and who he wants to do it, and both ash and Jay will be two big wages to get off the books.

Re: Obafemi
It is, a smiley, confident personality. I think he'll do well for us.
That front four places has some real competition:-
Rodriguez
Barnes
Foster
Obafemi
Dervişoğlu
Zaroury
Brownhill
Benson
Tella
Gudmundsson
Twine
Churlinov
Absolutely frightening.

Imagine looking forward to seeing what your reveal video will be and then discovering James f****** Corden is on it!
Re: ARTICLE: Obafemi in loan move from Swansea
One of the most annoying people on tv. I have to turn over if he appears on it. Media team have done a great job with these announcements though.

What’s the downer everyone has on Cordon? Personally I think he’s really talented…… what’s he done to upset y’all? Been successful?

Ok he’s not scored recently but don’t agree his performances have dropped off. One of our better players yesterday in a generally poor team showing. And unlucky not to score.

Whoever gave him no.45 has a sense of humour just sort of a p if he doesn’t buck his ideas up by all accounts.
Glad we are looking for players with pace after seeing some move slower than oil tankers the last few years.

Kompany is big on manners, behaviour and effort, he can back it up with his career and experience, also he is a monster who won't take sh1t.

Re: ARTICLE: Obafemi in loan move from Swansea
I'm taking all that with a bucket of salt. Not so much an balanced appraisal of Obafemi, more a bitter rant full of conjecture, quite bereft of actual specifics. Let's give him a chance. We seem to have built a right sound squad where everyone is pretty lovable and even those on the fringes of the squad seem to be showing the right attitude. That doesn't happen by accident. Character references will have played a part in all that, and I can't see why that would be any different with Obafemi. For a relative pittance we've bagged a player for whom we had a bid of £10m rejected just a few months ago. Not bad business, that.It Is What It Is wrote: ↑Sun Jan 29, 2023 5:40 pmps://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/swanseac ... many-years

Re: ARTICLE: Obafemi in loan move from Swansea
Totally agree. Kompany came in with tonnes of respect to his name. He's only increased that with every day that has passed. He's also being well backed by Pace, which gives him total power in the dressing room, and I get the impression he'd be quite happy to tell anyone who doesn't meet his standards of professionalism to **** off and find somewhere else to play. No one is bigger than any club, but we're in the very fortunate position where no player is bigger than the manager. You just need to read the Brian Laws thread to be reminded how a mutiny can arise despite the best intentions of the manager if, like Laws, the manager doesn't command respect.

Think it’s more a case of 4+5 makes 9 with him being a number 9, either that or his idol is balotelliSuperjohnnyfrancis wrote: ↑Sun Jan 29, 2023 5:24 pmWhoever gave him no.45 has a sense of humour just sort of a p if he doesn’t buck his ideas up by all accounts.

I’m not against this but don’t particularly understand it. Foster is surely first choice as a proper all round forward. Obafemi doesn’t seem like someone who can play up top on his own either. Don’t see where he’ll play or where he’ll fit in.

Re: ARTICLE: Obafemi in loan move from Swansea
Looks a cocky so and so, was bigging himself up a lot in half jest in the interview. Looks like he could have a bit of arrogance about him but we are loaning then buying him not to be an office boy but a Premier League striker, and they need a bit of that.
I suspect Kompany is the kind of guy to handle that personality and get the best from it. We are now a club dominated by a manager like Ferguson did at United, Kompany’s profile is huge and bigger than any player. Fascinating to watch that play out.
